Marichiko, that is the last fucking straw: you are lying in a quote box, deliberately. You have no ethics left. Deep shame on you.

How many other obviously stupid things do you do in a single day?

PM sent. If that doesn't do it, I'll find something that will.

Don't trust these guys

I can remember when the FBI took 18 months to locate a guy name Ken Kesey. Know who or what he was? An LSD crazed novelist. Then they took over 12 months to find heiress Patricia Hearst who had been allegedly kidnapped by a group calling themselves the Symboinese Liberation Army. They consisted of 6 or so self-agrandizing bank robbers. That same FBI could tell you the name of every woman the Reverand Martin Luther King, Jr. had ever slept with. J. Edgar Hoover may be dead but his spirit lives on.

These guys tell you they are on the up-and-up. Just keepin' us safe from terroists. I can guarantee you that the Shrub and his boys are using the information to keep track of the political oppostion, anti-war folks and libertarian types. They could also used them to run down renegade state legislators like they used Homeland Security to find all those nasty Texas Democrats. They won't find any more terrorists this way than they do making you take off your shoes in the airport or carry a passport to pop over the border for Tequila and Whoppee.

I spent the last 10 months of my four year Army tour at the NSA. I can tell you what the NSA is. It is thousands upon thousands of mindless bureaucrats who whould unquestioningly execute each and every one of us if their overlords so ordered. These are the very same kinds of people Hitler relied on to construct and implement the gas chambers. You need to be very, very afraid of these people. I know I am.

You may not. Al doesn't yet wish to keep the Republic. In related reading, scope out One Hundred People Who Are Screwing Up America (and Al Franken is #37), by Bernard Goldberg. Of late he's been hitting the talk shows plugging 110 People, instead of a mere hundred.

Mjohn, I've more experience of NSA than you do, both NAVSECGRU and civilian. I came to the opposite conclusion: that those guys are too busy at their secretive jobs to do such conspiracy-theory stuff. They haven't time for it; they just don't think that way, from Special Executive Service down to the cleared janitorial personnel.

He certainly does, especially compared to Michelle "intern the Japanese" Malkin.

I had a chance to meet Mr. Franken and found him to be a highly decent, thoughtful and patriotic man. He was very kind. I'll stick with my direct assessment over your mediated rabid spin. I think your fears (the great many of them) that fuel your energies, are unfortunately misplaced. There is plenty out there to fear, but I am not sweating Al Franken.

I always thought the point wasn't that they did it in their free time; rather, that their secretive job was the stuff we make conspiracy theories over.

Fear Al Franken? Come now, cannot one of you get it right?

Contempt is not to be confused with fear. I think Al, on the basis of such of his words I read before disgust overtook me (I have a strong stomach, so I wasn't taking the trip to Rising Gorge) is unwise, and quite the Big Fat Idiot. Unwise idiots are not to be feared, but to be rebutted, scotched, and defeated.

Monkey, some free advice: don't indulge in slander you can't substantiate. The Left's habit of doing that is a central reason the Left is too stupid for me.

Urbane Guerrilla just graduated from the Rush Limbaugh school of logic and international analysis. When caught lying, then attack the messenger.

Actually, I am reading. I even know how to use italics, too. I do agree that it really is a waste of time to argue with you. You are the ultimate conservative. If you'd been in the Nuremberg docks or sitting next to Ollie in the Iran-Contra hearings, you would probably have been the one guy who stood up and said to the judges/senators "I still don't see what the fucking problem is".

It might be that we need guys like you. Too many men mix in conscience with duty, causing problems. You seem like you would be unhindered by any qualms. Illegal order? I doubt that you would even consider that such a thing is possible.
