Get Out movie

We went to see Get Out last night, written and directed by comedian Jordan Peele (of Key & Peele) fame. Holy shit. An instant pop masterpiece. Hilarious but also genuinely suspenseful.

Also, as a sound designer, I would like to note that the auditory landscape of this movie is a masterpiece. You should want to see it in the theater for that reason alone, but you will be more convinced when I tell you that you should go because the audience goes insane, even in a theater like ours that very, very strictly enforces no noise during the movie, and it's more fun to watch it in a group.

Seriously, I can't recommend this enough. It is the best movie I've seen in a long, long time.

I should note that I'm not a fan of horror movies. But that's not what this is, really. I'm telling you. Take the missus, you will like it.

I'll see that when it comes to DVD. Looks good.

Foley artists are some of the forgotten magicians of film.

I read last night it had hit a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is not easy to do. Dunno how long that'll hold, but it's a powerful recommendation on its own!
