How do I post a poll? :banghead:

I've looked and looked....

When I select the number of questions and push the submitt button nothing happens. There is no window or format to put the questions.

I know it's me but I don't see any directions.

are you clicking this box, too?

skysidhe 04-06-2008 10:49 PM

Yes I did. I was thinking I need to do it in IE. I will try later. Thanks.

Agent-G 04-23-2008 09:43 PM

I have been searching this thread but cant find the question answered on how you attach pictures. The box at the bottom says that the html coding is off. So, besides using the image code, what the the ways I can attach a picture to a post?

lumberjim 04-23-2008 10:01 PM

If you registered within the last 3 or 4 days, you probably have to wait a few days. your tools are limited at the beginning. keeps the spammers away.

Underneath the reply box is "Additional Options"
Click "Manage Attachments" and follow the instructions in the pop-up box.

skysidhe 04-29-2008 10:45 AM

While logging off I opted out of running scripts.

I want scripts back. Scripts are more fun.

Undertoad 04-29-2008 10:52 AM

That will be a local setting somewhere, or you could install Firefox.

We should make the monkey at the top have clickable parts; click his head and his eyes pop out; click his mouth and he sticks out his tongue; click his butt and he toots; click his arm and he gives a high five. Click the typewriter and it starts to type away paper poping up.

SteveDallas 05-05-2008 11:06 PM

What happens if you spank him?

Devine Release?

lumberjim 05-07-2008 01:46 AM

look at all this cool shit the new version does! do we have this stuff?!

Undertoad 05-07-2008 08:18 AM

When a new version comes out you have to wait three months so they get all the security bugs out.

SteveDallas 05-07-2008 09:40 AM

It's... it's.... FACEBOOK!

LabRat 05-07-2008 09:55 AM

After a quick browsing of LJ's link, I think that the same thread type linking could be cool, as can be thread tagging for my own future reference and the user albums. How much more server space (thus $$, right?) would this take though? One of the things I really like here now is the relative simplicity, no avatars etc. I'd like to keep the flow of the text relatively unhindered with a bunch of stupid pictures. Unless it's an image thread where of course, that's the point. :2cents:

xoxoxoBruce 05-07-2008 11:01 AM

Clique building. :(

LabRat 05-07-2008 11:19 AM

Yeah, that's what I thought too, what with all the buddy lists and crap. But, you don't have to use those features if you don't want.
I don't care who your buddies are, or about amassing a big 'ole list of my own to show off. If you are my friend, you know it, and so do I, and that's all that matters. *shrug*

lookout123 05-07-2008 01:09 PM

my buddy list will consist of the last 3 females to post noody pics. if there is a tie in posting time the winner will be the poster of the most graphic pics.;)

but seriously, that stuff looked pretty cool, but I like the simplicity of the cellar as it is now.

xoxoxoBruce 05-09-2008 01:41 AM

Couldn't log on for a couple hours tonight... notes time...er, last night.

Undertoad 05-09-2008 08:08 AM

All of DCANet was down. They must have had a backhoe outage or something.

lookout123 05-09-2008 11:49 AM

can't trust them hoes.

lookout123 05-12-2008 03:16 PM

It appears that as everyone googles Barbara Bush for pics today (her sister's wedding was yesterday) they are being directed to the cellar. 2 pages full of guests viewing the barbara bush is hot thread from a couple years ago.

Undertoad 05-12-2008 03:43 PM

What a good catch, we're number two on images.google.com for her.

lookout123 05-12-2008 03:58 PM

eh, even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time.

SteveDallas 05-12-2008 04:15 PM

Imagine how many we'd get if the thread had been [i]Jenna[/] Bush is hot!

lumberjim 05-12-2008 04:20 PM

it just shows that lookout is a stalker

lookout123 05-12-2008 04:55 PM

i watched you type that. I saw the website you were looking at before the cellar too. pervert.

Sundae 05-18-2008 01:29 PM

Have we been Dugg, Farked etc? Seems to be moving terribly slowly...

lookout123 05-27-2008 04:17 PM

It is summer again, does that mean it is about time for a new round of Field of 64 threads?

Undertoad 05-27-2008 04:41 PM

I've been waiting for a reason to work on the admin bit that runs it, improving it so it's easier to use.

Summer isn't really a good enough reason though

lookout123 05-27-2008 05:04 PM

how about field of 64 for movie sequels?

Shawnee123 05-27-2008 05:09 PM

I dunno: is that like the Field of Dreams?

DanaC 05-27-2008 05:39 PM

wtf is field of 64?

Undertoad 05-27-2008 05:46 PM

http://cellar.org/fieldof64/

Edit: further: "field of 64" describes a 64-team, single-elimination tournament structure. For an improved outcome, the teams are "seeded" into four sectors of 16 teams each; the idea is that the four teams thought to be the best do not play each other until the "final four", if they make it through the rounds.

For our purposes we have taken the "team" tournament idea and put other items into the tournament. The Fof64 page above shows the outcomes, and the threads where we voted on them.

lumberjim 05-31-2008 11:19 PM

so... what about spoilers?
stuff that pops open when you click the bar that says, 'click here to show/ click here to hide'
It's pretty damn rare that I see a cookie I don't remember ever seeing before...

...I don't get it.

I mean, maybe I do--it's a little weird that they called something the 'Old News mode', but that's just kind of nonsensical to me rather than something damning--and I keep reading it again like it tells me to, looking for what I'm supposed to be seeing. I got nothin'.

Sundae 07-01-2008 09:34 AM

I've been trying to log on since about 09.30 BST.
This is the first time I've got on.

I don't know if anyone else has had a problem?

lookout123 07-01-2008 02:03 PM

it's running a little slow, but no problems signing on. unless you count the ad for some italian restaurant that pops up when i open the cellar.

Undertoad 07-01-2008 04:03 PM

Oh that, I made a deal with Bertucci's, we'll be closing the tip mug soon.

Griff 07-01-2008 04:31 PM

How's the Risotto?

I second that question.

HungLikeJesus 07-02-2008 10:00 AM

I question that second.

Shawnee123 07-02-2008 10:37 AM

I gotcher second right here, HLJ. ;)

Undertoad 07-02-2008 11:42 AM

There was no deal, never will be. Pop ups are you kidn me? Never in a million years.

The tip mug remains open.

xoxoxoBruce 07-02-2008 11:58 AM

I have a problem with the Cellar slowing down, sometimes to an agonizing crawl, just after midnight. I can go to any other site with no problem, so I theorize the Cellar location, midst several credit cards and financial institutions, that are busy moving money after midnight, chokes the lines.

Undertoad 07-02-2008 12:02 PM

Yeah, I found that one last night... a backup of the database is scheduled to happen at 4 am, but the time was off and the system thought it was 4am at midnight.

The database backup really slows things down for about 10 minutes, but there's not much that can be done for that one. It just has to happen...

So the McDonalds Dwellar vouchers that LJ was trying to flog me probably aren't worth the paper they were printed on...?

SteveDallas 07-02-2008 12:42 PM

If you are really getting popup ads along with The Cellar, you probably have a piece of adware from somewhere on your computer that's generating them.

lookout123 07-02-2008 12:56 PM

i'm not getting popups. one time when i opened the cellar two additional browser screens opened in the background with ads for an italian restaurant. it was my laptop and i had the wireless turned on even though i was using my cable... I think I may have just picked up some free service nearby. i was really just kind of joking when i said that.

skysidhe 07-04-2008 12:27 PM

My Opera hates the cellar!

It closes connections, logs me out.....IE is fine but I have to ask for more permissions.

I am just complaining. I am not going to fix it today!

Does that make it a soap opera? ;)
