Posting a picture without hotlinking:

If you don't want to download & upload the picture, use the "upload from url" feature. Highly recommended.

1. Find the picture somewhere on the internet
2. Copy the url (differs for each browser. For firefox, right-click on the image and choose Copy Image Location)
3. In the cellar, click Manage Attachments below the message panel.
4. Paste the url in the area noted Upload a File from a URL.
5. Upload.

No muss. No fuss.

Pete's step 3 makes it not hotlinking.

How is that different than clicking on the insert image icon and pasting the url there?
Now I'm back to being confused.

The manage attachments process uploads the image from whereever you found it to the cellar.

When I go to the first unread post in the humor thread, it always takes me to the top of the last page. Only that thread, every time. I use Exploder 8. Anybody know what's causing this?

I have a couple of threads that do that for me too. The "Post Your Pets" thread and the "Be a post whore!" thread come to mind. Sometimes the humor thread does it for me, sometimes not.

Maybe something to do with your cookies? Have you tried deleting?

Why does UncaDollas have a bunch of posts that are presumably supposed to be youtube vids but they're just big blank spaces?

UncaDollas is putting entire URLs within BB Code YouTube tags instead of just the YouTube value. It's easy enough to delete the extraneous characters during a QUOTE preview and repost it.

Froth counts half. If the mug is 100% full at the end of the month, I will switch it to iced tea.

I, like many of the other shaved apes here, am a pattern seeking animal. This difference disrupted the pattern and caught my attention. I'm not seeking to control it, I am just curious about it.

The most users ever online here at the Cellar was 1,719, on Sept 30, 2007, @ 10:10 in the am.

Was this a special event, or just chance?

IIRC, the biggest hit the Cellar ever took was the Foam on the Air Force Base IOTD. I think Toad eventually had to take those images down for good because they were killing us so much. I think that's where all the visitors came from.

It was special, I can't even remember what it was that time. (the foam happened earlier)

Once in a while The Cellar dangles something shiny, and they all come over and consume it at once, until the creaking old server can't manage, interrupting our day.

They never stay or even offer a single thanks.

I knew there was a reason for my xenofoambia.

Is there a smart guy way to post a word table with formatting? I ended up doing a screen shot, cleaning it up in paint, and posting it as a jpeg.
