Click and hold on the little lines in the lower right-hand corner, then you can drag in any direction to resize the box.

Never needed it to expand. After five lines I get scrollbars.

I just retrieved FF13 and I don't get the bars or dots. I'm guessing they are added by a toolbar or some other extension you guys have installed.
