fuck punctuation! And *asterix's* and ellipsis...!

xoxoxoBruce 11-12-2006 02:03 PM

Got ragged on for too many commas, as pauses, and started adding ellipsis.
And smilies to annoy the nerds. ;)

Hm. For some weird reason (actually, am trying to avoid studying for tomorrow's final in 17th C. Brit Lit as is mind-numbing) I am clicking around on different things here in the Cellar and clicked on "View Forum Leaders" and the message told me I didn't have clearance to view this...I thought I'd just get a list of the mods...is this James Bond stuff?

Undertoad 11-16-2006 10:42 AM

I think this is because there ARE no "forum leaders". I should remove that link.

Trilby 11-16-2006 10:57 AM

OH! Thanks!

That vBulletin Message always hurt my feelings. What, I'm not good enough?

Happy Monkey 11-16-2006 04:00 PM

Would it be possible to add more options to the "Find Posts From" section of Advanced Search? Like multiple years?

Undertoad 11-16-2006 04:56 PM

That ought to be do-able, although keeping all the features straight when migrating from version to version is getting to be a real pain. A lot of them have to be manually migrated each time.

Happy Monkey 11-16-2006 07:03 PM

Someone (maybe tw?) mentioned looking at posts from 2002 and 2003, and I got a bit curious, but there's no easy way to do so by username. It's just a whim, so no worries if it's more hassle than it's worth

Undertoad 11-17-2006 08:46 AM

rkzenrage, please do not copy the entire body of a spam message, including the links, into another thread, making work for the moderators? Mmmkay?

Shawnee123 11-17-2006 09:08 AM

How do you embed (is that the right word) a link to a site, or another thread, covered up by a word? For example, someone will say

here

and when you click on linkable "here" you go to a site or thread?

I read the directions but I guess I'm missing something!

Thanks!

Undertoad 11-17-2006 09:19 AM

Highlight the section you want to be a link

Press the "Insert Link" button, which is the globe with a chain link on it

Insert the URL, with the http part. Hit OK.

For any feature, just quote an example to see how it was done.

Oh, simple, huh?

Flint, I don't think I understand what you just said!

type : [url= and put the web address here] after that put your text, then finish with: /url

only put[ ] around the /url
