Never said it wasn't.

useful is in the brain of the beholder. For many, notifications of likes/dislikes etc are just another annoying thing you need to turn off. The Cellar is an alternative to Facebook and Twitter, not a poor relative that needs grooming to become a clone. If like farming is your thing, post there. If discussion is what you want, post here. You can always post "do you like what I said?" if you need to know. And there's no rule against posting the same thing on Facebook as here. You could always post on facebook first to test the water, and then here if it gets enough likes :D

I have found that folks here generally look for the positive, so if they enjoyed reading what you wrote, they will tell you about it and maybe start a discussion, and if they didn't, they'll just move on. Silence is very telling.

Alright. I get it. Nobody likes this idea. I shouldn't have asked.

BTW, I don't do Facebook, and Twitter is mostly just a pastime for me. Also, discussion isn't Twitter's main function. Otherwise, tweets wouldn't limited to 140 characters.

Why is your post invisible?

sexobon 08-17-2016 11:51 PM

I was being very telling.

Shit. All this time I thought it was golden. That explains how I got caught and why I'm broke.

Now then, no need to be so judgmental. Silence could be golden and telling. Or questioning. Let's be welcoming to all silences. Should we have a thread of silence to show support?

elSicomoro 08-20-2016 01:23 AM

Silence is golden; duct tape is silver.
