What foot3 just posted is exactly what you would see if you QUOTED someone posting a link like you're asking about.

Shawnee123 11-17-2006 10:21 AM

Oh, I got how to do it, but I'm still not sure what you said. :3eye: No worries, my brain paths are not typical for a human.

I prefer "Unusual"

Flint 11-17-2006 10:36 AM

I prefer "unusual" too, just ask my wife. [/attempt at dirty joke that didn't really go over as planned]

A quiet hush fell over that particular corner of the Cellar; the crickets in the background became a cacophonous symphony of sound, while Flint sheepishly backed away.

Lemme try, Flint. Shawnee, if you see a post that does what you want to do, press the quote button on the lower right of the post you want to emulate. In the quoted text you'll see exactly what to type.

All the buttons at the top just insert the right text for you, but you can do it yourself if you want.

Did that get closer?

Shawnee123 11-21-2006 09:57 AM

Thanks for all your input. I got it now! (How many Shawnees does it take to embed a link?) :)

got this warning last night from Norton, any idea what it's all about? it seems I am frequently attacked from the address in question.

dar512 11-21-2006 10:51 AM

More info on Nmap Xmas scan here. Sounds like someone is looking for vulnerabilities on your system.

Undertoad 11-21-2006 10:53 AM

I think this is Norton being overaggressive. That address is the Cellar's address, and port 80 is HTTP. The "nmap Xmas scan" is sort of like knocking on doors to see if anyone's there, not very serious and it could be a mistake somebody made in the protocol.
