Just click ur heels together and say, theres no place like home. ;)

Undertoad 04-14-2013 09:00 AM

Tick the boxes on the right-hand side of the messages you want to move. At the bottom of the page, on the right again, is a box that says "Move to folder..." Just hit GO and it will ask you where to move the messages you've ticked.

infinite monkey 04-15-2013 09:23 AM

Or you can use 'ctrl' to select particular emails out of a list of emails (you can skip around, basically) or you can select emails in series by using 'shift' and clicking on the first and last you want to move. Then you just right click and drag...all your selections will follow along being, and 'drop' it into your new folder.

I have a question.

Some time ago I posted a song I really liked. I can't remember what it was or really much about it. I know someone (Dana I think) commented on it too.

Is there a way to search for my own posts in a particular thread?

glatt 04-15-2013 09:43 AM

Yes, you go up one directory so you can see all the threads including the one you want to search, then you click on the number of posts under the "Replies" for the thread you want to search. It will open a window with a list of everyone who replied to that thread, and how many replies they have. Scroll down and find you name, and click on the number of replies you have made. That will give you a list of the replies you have made, and you can browse through them and open the ones you want.

It sounds more complicated than it is.

infinite monkey 04-15-2013 10:00 AM

Thanks glatt! I'm still not locating it but who knows exactly where I put it.

I didn't know you could do the search from the top of the thread!

infinite monkey 04-15-2013 10:34 AM

I found it!

It must have been fairly new in 2009 when I posted it. I've sure heard it a lot since then. But not enough. Such a pretty song.

Gonna go post it. The one I posted back then is broken.

Whoa, cool! Been here nine years and I never knew that.

footfootfoot 04-15-2013 10:44 PM

That is excessively cool. Now I'm going to start clicking on all the links just to see what else they can do.

DanaC 04-16-2013 04:02 AM

Bloody hell...all these years...has that always been possible?

xoxoxoBruce 04-16-2013 01:05 PM

Yes.

infinite monkey 04-30-2013 11:00 AM

What does my usertitle say?

glatt 04-30-2013 11:05 AM

"We go together like pp^^"

The question is, what does it mean?

infinite monkey 04-30-2013 11:08 AM

I was hoping for some guesses.

I thought t'was clever. Maybe it isn't, but I like it. I like it a lot.

Clodfobble 04-30-2013 11:30 AM

I get it! :)

(Highlight)
"We go together like peas and carrots."

infinite monkey 04-30-2013 11:32 AM

YES! :)

I don't know if I wrote it: I got the idea from another post here in the Cellar, but I'm not googling it only to find out I wasn't the first most clever.

glatt 04-30-2013 11:36 AM

It's obvious in hindsight. I'm a little slow sometimes.

Hey Clod, what does the plus [+] symbol after your username mean? The asterisk[*] after mine (on my screen) symbolizes that I've elected to be invisible; but, I don't know/forgot what the plus symbol stands for. :o

Clodfobble 06-07-2013 08:18 AM

I don't know, I don't see a plus...

Undertoad 06-07-2013 08:32 AM

It means she is on your buddy list. :heart-on:

Thanks Clod. Your username became my guinea pig as it happened to be active during the wee hours when I got curious about Currently Active Users list annotations.

But if I put the same username on ignore, I don't get a minus [-] sign next to it. I know that annotations aren't limited to the PM contact list since invisible mode is marked with an asterisk[*]. What other annotations are there? Is there already a list somewhere here that I've missed?

Undertoad 06-07-2013 11:20 AM

That's it, just + and * . I don't know if it's documented anywhere.

wanderer 06-08-2013 12:36 PM

Do we have some free android based app for cellar? I tried using the forum on my phone and it offered me tapatalk. I just want to confirm if there is anything official out there that I can use?

Undertoad 06-08-2013 01:16 PM

Nope, just Tapatalk, but Tapatalk is great. It's one of those apps worth paying for. It even gives you notifications of forum PMs. Amazing.

The only hassle is that it does tend to mark your messages as read. I haven't delved into how to keep it from doing that.

wanderer 06-08-2013 02:20 PM

Thanks UT. Just wanted to be sure about what I pray for. Will try out tapatalk.

glatt 07-08-2013 10:02 AM

Is the site really slow for anyone else the morning? Or do I need to pour some coffee into my PC?

xoxoxoBruce 07-08-2013 10:11 AM

No problem here.

Griff 07-08-2013 02:29 PM

Very slow here but its prolly just the volume of NSA traffic.

Undertoad 07-08-2013 02:43 PM

The server is not seeing much traffic from the Chinese hackers.

BigV 07-08-2013 10:12 PM

Is cellar chat permanently offline?

Undertoad 07-09-2013 08:06 AM

Well I uh

Is there interest in it, I could restorenit.

BigV 07-09-2013 11:19 AM

I like it. I miss it. I don't know of any other group realtime textchat options for the circle of friends I have here. I reckon Google Hangouts would do it, though I've never tried.

One vote for cellar chat here.

Undertoad 07-09-2013 02:54 PM

you know we uh could actually voice chat on the skypes

Undertoad 07-09-2013 03:32 PM

I don't think the Cellar Chat is happening, but I could probably replace it something else. The dude who wrote it is not supporting it.

BigV 07-09-2013 04:13 PM

ok, no problemo

It's been extremely slow for me since I posted that, but only from my work PC. Tapatalk is fast and my home connection is fast.

I don't think my firm does anything to block sites, so I wonder where the loose connection is. Griff, do you still have a slow connection to the Cellar?

I guess I should take it as a hint to look for stuff to do while at work. There's a closet that needs cleaning out. I suppose I could tackle that.

Griff 07-11-2013 02:16 PM

Yeah, the pages are not loading fully if there are any images. This machine does have issues but my other surfing is fine.

Undertoad 07-11-2013 02:19 PM

WTF I don't have this issue

Griff 07-11-2013 02:25 PM

Its very strange because its acting like it does when I have a poor connection but mlb is streaming fine and reddit is fine. Could it be a packet routing issue rather than a cellar issue?

Exactly my experience. If I keep hitting F5 every 20 seconds or so, the images will eventually all load, but I usually give up before then. I changed my preferences so that I'm only loading 10 posts per page, but that hasn't helped much. It's like dial up. But worse.

Works fine from home and from tapatalk.

Weird.

Undertoad 07-11-2013 02:49 PM

It might mean there is congestion somewhere between cellar.org and you.

Try running "tracert cellar.org" in a cmd window. It will tell you roughly how long it takes to reach all the routers between you and the Cellar.

Code:

C:\>tracert cellar.org

Tracing route to cellar.org [207.245.110.178]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

OK, why the extra hops, between core-2-gig-vlan-500.hq.dca.net and cellar.org, only for the people who are getting slowness.

HOW COULD THAT BEEEEE

Undertoad 07-11-2013 03:45 PM

Can griff or glatt do a tracert 207.245.110.180 and see if the results are different?
