Law enforcement agencies don't consider grammar Nazis to be real criminals.

Possible, but I know for a fact that some agencies can look inside if they want to. I am glad to hear that all is quiet on the Eastern Front.

skysidhe 06-06-2010 04:47 PM

Can I search within a thread? Say, I want to find craft sites that have been listed in the Keen Links thread?

Undertoad 06-06-2010 05:08 PM

Nope

lumberjim 06-06-2010 06:37 PM

yes, you can. look at the bar above the first post on any page. if you're logged in it says ' search this thread'

skysidhe 06-06-2010 07:03 PM

Thanks! It worked. I searched within for the word 'craft' and got one of my old links.

I am working on a project so even one is a big help.

Now I need some of Bruce's crafty links

monster 06-06-2010 07:14 PM

That's what all the ladies say.....

BigV 06-06-2010 07:36 PM

I wish we had a sub forum called DIY.

I've a ton of projects that seem to vary across the existing fora: roll your own firmware for the Canon camera -- Quality Images. Shade tree mechanics -- somewhere. I built a kayak, (Yes, glatt. I know, I know. I know ok?) -- not yet posted. Numerous recipies -- Food and drink, ok. But my new meadmaking too?

It's not just me. Mercy made an *awesome* outdoor fireplace. It has inspired me to make one of my own. I have the bricks already, but I'm not there yet. Case's creations, and loads of costumes by others. A DIY forum. That is my request, please.

monster 06-06-2010 07:44 PM

is not creative expression?

BigV 06-06-2010 07:55 PM

I guess so. At least it helped me learn the new spelling of an old poster's handle. thx

skysidhe 06-06-2010 08:55 PM

I was thinking the same BigV. There are so many projects scattered here. I was wishing there was a 'How To' page for requests.

I thought the creative expression meant just that. Expressions like poetry already done and not so much a resource spot. (?)

Some express themselves in words.

Some express themselves on the canvas.

Others express themselves in bricks and mortar, or wood, or clay, or marble, etc, etc, etc.

It's all the same creative expression. We all just have different outlets. :)

Shawnee123 06-07-2010 01:18 PM

For me, it's sychronized belching.

TheDaVinciChode 06-07-2010 01:19 PM

And for others, it's between the bed sheets.

Whatever you do, to express yourself, whether you consider it to be, or not, is creative expression of self.

Pete Zicato 06-07-2010 03:13 PM

Express yourself.

And

respect yourself.

Shawnee123 06-07-2010 03:14 PM

Bravo! :)

TheDaVinciChode 06-07-2010 07:00 PM

Whatever happened to the edible IotD?

I see so few recipes, these days. :(

xoxoxoBruce 06-09-2010 05:13 PM

They are all edible.

classicman 06-15-2010 04:12 PM

I just put someone on ignore - They have now decided to harass me using Private messaging. Can I block spexxific posters or is it an "all or nothing" feature?

monster 06-15-2010 04:24 PM

Do what I do and don't read them :) Then you don't get annoyed plus whoever is being an asshole has got it out of their system too.

classicman 06-15-2010 04:29 PM

yeh that worked out real well. :eyebrow:

monster 06-15-2010 05:09 PM

well it did for me, ymmv :)

lumberjim 06-15-2010 06:02 PM

damnit, monster! open that pm!

Flint 06-15-2010 08:40 PM

Start a thread and post all the private messages. The situation will get resolved one way or another.

nope. :)

I posted one that was inappropriate/inexcusable as a PM and then I decided just not to open any that I could tell were going to be irritating. So far the count is at two  And four friend requests because I just don't do all that social stuff. And I'm so much better off for it. I'm operating the same policy with emails. It's very liberating.

HungLikeJesus 06-15-2010 10:30 PM

You are a goddess.

Nope - No can do. Private is private.
I won't lower myself to their standards.

monster 06-15-2010 11:13 PM

Stop being such a fucking drama queen/wimp/hypocrite. Child abusers tell their victims it's a special secret. Not all secrets are good and should be kept. If youir PMs are abusive, report them, reveal them, blow the whistle. If they're just unpleasant -Man up and ignore them -opened or unopened. But FFS stop whining. And claiming "private is private" after "hinting" () at who has your knickers in a twist is is complete fucking hypocrisy. Sheesh.

And yup, don't bother PMing me to tell me how much I hurt your feelings. Just do it right here and we'll all feel better.

classicman 06-15-2010 11:50 PM

Hey MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE MONNIE

lumberjim 06-15-2010 11:57 PM

I'm sorry, but I lolled.

ok... I'm not sorry.

monster 06-15-2010 11:59 PM

my finger hurts......

monster 06-16-2010 12:04 AM

Classic, I'm really sorry to have to break this to you, but that's the best post I've seen from you in a long time.

lumberjim 06-16-2010 12:05 AM

Motion for a new Forum:

I think it would be good housekeeping to have that. I was recently looking back through the "quality images" forum for an old thread, and I had to go past a shitload of threads from the photo contests. With the 5 voting threads for each one, plus the original, we'll have 60 photo contest threads after this current contest is finished. They are clogging up the "quality images" forum.

I think the contests are popular enough that there will be new ones for the foreseeable future.

zippyt 06-16-2010 09:26 AM

I Thurd what Jim and Glatt said

HungLikeJesus 06-16-2010 09:32 AM

I'll vote with the majority, which ever way it goes.

monster 06-16-2010 10:17 AM

I agree. Sorry for doing that to the images forum :(

monster 06-16-2010 10:17 AM

perhaps we could have a mediocre images forum for all the lolcats and shit.

So let it be written; so let it be done.

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 03:39 PM

Curiouser and curiouser.

I edited a post in Beehives of Love.

If I click "go advanced" and look underneath the post box at "topic review" I see my edit:

Topic Review (Newest First)

07-02-2010 03:34 PM
Shawnee123 Nothing says love like a beehive.
07-02-2010 02:14 PM
Shawnee123 No, that's Bee of Love. Quite different than a beehive of love. I think.
07-02-2010 02:14 PM
Pete Zicato By the Honeydrippers?
07-02-2010 01:09 PM
Gravdigr Well, that's what I thought it said.

If I look at the post straight on, the second and third sentences, the edits, are missing.

Have I completely lost my marbles?

SamIam 07-02-2010 03:51 PM

Yes.

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 03:58 PM

Oh, OK. Thanks for your help.

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 04:29 PM

Undertoad, I've had really odd things going on today. Will you please take a look at my question and tell me what you think?

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 06:35 PM

Here at home I see my edit. So, something weird was going on with my work computer today. *shrug*

Undertoad 07-02-2010 06:36 PM

Your work computer is ridiculous!

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 06:38 PM

ch'yeah, I know!

Probably they're spying.

Undertoad 07-02-2010 06:43 PM

Well FWIW spying can be done without causing such ridiculous problems!

Shawnee123 07-02-2010 06:45 PM

It was odd. That sort of stuff boggles my mind, due to what little I know about how it all works.

My work computer should be better than this old one here at home, that takes about 20 minutes to boot up...but I guess not!

Uh...When did we get a bar?

skysidhe 07-12-2010 06:49 PM

Ha! I like.

Shawnee123 08-04-2010 05:56 PM

Just an observation, everyone and their guest dog is looking at the watercolors thread from August 1 2009.

Undertoad 08-04-2010 06:12 PM

A couple of days we were getting Yahoo'd... now we're getting Bunged. All the watercolors hits come from Bing, and all looking for the same search terms:

seven+year+old+paintings+OR+Kieron+Williamson

classicman 08-13-2010 04:20 PM

My menu bar looks different for some reason -
User CP-Register-FAQ-Members List-Social Groups-Calendar-Search-New Posts-Mark Forums Read-Open Contacts Popup-Log Out

I normally have

User CP-Register-FAQ-Community-Calendar-New Posts-Search-Quick Links-Log Out

I got more options or something ... Is this new?

Undertoad 08-13-2010 04:22 PM

You have either turned off Javascript or deselected the Javascript option somehow, and options that are hidden in Javascript menus are displayed for you.

classicman 08-13-2010 04:35 PM

yeh - that means to me ............ nothing! Could you write that upside down and backwards :P:
Ok as long as I didn't break it - then I'm ok.

It seems to come up that way occasionally, but not always.

HungLikeJesus 08-13-2010 11:47 PM

Does it depend on whether you use cellar.org vs. www.cellar.org?

monster 08-14-2010 12:25 AM

Not an issue you should encounter ...if you have the cellar as a home page tab....

jus' sayin'

HungLikeJesus 08-14-2010 02:09 AM

The SDRTP links to www.cellar.org/... , but I always use cellar.org/...

classicman 08-14-2010 10:23 AM

http://cellar.org is what I use. It was happening while reloading pages. IT would actually switch from one to the other. most strange.
