Does anyone remember where that Google Earth post was, where the kid falls off the bike?

Shawnee123 07-16-2008 03:44 PM

THanks Flint. I wasn't finding it with the search terms I was trying. Anyway, as Dar pointed out in that thread the pic is gone. Darn, wanted to send to my family as my brother just found his house.

Tanks anyhoo.

skysidhe 07-20-2008 02:17 AM

I was on blogspot looking at visitor maps. I notice that the cellar already has frapper. I was wondering why the frapper map and the chat link is at the bottom of the page instead of the top? Some applications you don't notice unless you go looking for them.

xoxoxoBruce 07-20-2008 06:27 AM

Because the monkey flings them off with the poo.

skysidhe 07-20-2008 11:28 AM

hummm ...I don't know what to make of that.

Are YOU on frapper???

xoxoxoBruce 07-20-2008 10:59 PM

No, always preferred milkshakes.

skysidhe 07-20-2008 11:04 PM

Oh, is that what you kids are calling it these days?

skysidhe 07-21-2008 11:36 AM

Oh ON frapper! I get it but I am slow. hehe.

Well maybe unattentive and lacking critical thought. Anyway, it sounds better than being slow.

Cloud 09-03-2008 10:07 AM

HungLikeJesus 09-03-2008 10:19 AM

The tabs that you've crossed out - I bet they all include live, or nude, or girls.

BigV 09-03-2008 11:11 AM

Would you bet $111? Again?

Flint 09-03-2008 11:38 AM

I'm running IE6 and no java on this computer, and when I click on "Quick Links," the "Mark Forums Read" and "Open Buddy List" links appear in it's place.

Undertoad 09-03-2008 03:27 PM

I have never seen "Open Buddy List", ever.

YOUR FACE IS THEGHEY CEELAR!!!1

BigV 09-03-2008 03:33 PM

Likewise, it was news to me as well. Load Chrome for yourself and see what you get.

lookout123 09-03-2008 03:36 PM

nope.:headshake not gonna do it. next thing you know those googoverlords are going to make everyone drink koolaid. not joining that cult.

BigV 09-03-2008 03:40 PM

Can I have yours?

lookout123 09-03-2008 03:44 PM

uh huh.

I'm keeping my old Tandy computer around. It's unplugged right now because I don't want the googoverlords to put any of their nasty overlordian programs in there. I'll be the only one with a working computer when they pull the plug and make the evil agenda known to you koolaid drinkers. :hide:

BigV 09-03-2008 03:50 PM

Just a quick question.... of what use will your computer be when the "plug is pulled"?

lookout123 09-03-2008 03:56 PM

all you geeks will want an uninfected machine and then i'll be rich.

Step 1: Keep machine uninfected
Step 2:
Step 3: Get Rich

Undertoad 09-03-2008 04:06 PM

Got it. Your Chrome does not have Javascript enabled.

Buddy List is under Quick Links, but Quick Links can only be shown if the browser is allowed to do the dynamic page bits, in Javascript.

Flint 09-03-2008 04:13 PM

WTF?!1

Undertoad 09-03-2008 04:33 PM

Java and Javascript are quite different things actually

Flint 09-03-2008 04:34 PM

your face is two different things

BigV 09-03-2008 07:11 PM

question:

What is the process for a thread/forum to become an archive? And are they all permanently read only?

example:

http://cellar.org/forumdisplay.php?s...c&daysprune=-1

Undertoad 09-03-2008 07:43 PM

They are read only, areas that seemed like a good idea at the time, or user-run areas that are no longer active.

BigV 09-04-2008 09:55 AM

Thank you for your reply.

SteveDallas 09-04-2008 10:02 AM

OOOHHHH only 2.5 weeks till Sylar and friends are back on TV![/threadjack]

Clodfobble 09-04-2008 12:38 PM

Now I'm imagining a spinoff sitcom called "Sylar and Friends." That would be awesome.

Are you sure you don't mean "Sylar" and "Friends"? "Hey, Phoebe, did you meet the new guy who just moved in across the hall?"

Sundae 09-05-2008 04:30 AM

Help, help, help.
In her orgy of delight that I am back in the office, Hely was stepping all over my keyboard this morning. I don't usually let her do this, but some numpty locked her in here last night and I was being indulgent to assuage my own guilt. Anyway, she's made the Cellar go really big. That's the technical description. The text is HUGE. This hasn't affected any other websites or my desktop.

Help, help, help?

Sundae 09-05-2008 08:27 AM

I logged out for lunch - yes, I went out today! - and when I logged back in it had returned to normal. Phew.

xoxoxoBruce 09-05-2008 11:47 AM

Whew, glad the swelling went down, SG. ;)

Cicero 09-07-2008 12:34 PM

Can I attach an mvi file to this website or do I have to find a different host site? I should know this, but I uh.....don't. I tried yesterday but it took so long to upload that I had to quit while it was still uploading.

Cellar pages are loading slowly today. Is anyone else experiencing this or am I on Double Secret Probation here at work (in which case I need to know so I can skedaddle!) :)

glatt 11-18-2008 12:57 PM

It's SLOOOW right now.

Lots of guests viewing the recent T-Bone IOTD.

binky 12-08-2008 02:15 PM

I need help figuring out (yes AGAIN) how to post a pic. I have a kodak camera, which seems to be the AOL of cameras

glatt 12-08-2008 02:18 PM

Is the picture on your computer, and can you find it?

lookout123 12-08-2008 02:23 PM

I usually crop it to remove extra details and then paste it to my screen. Sometimes I can fit 6 or 7 pictures on there before it is covered and I have to buy a new monitor.

binky 12-08-2008 02:36 PM

LOl lookout, yes glatt, in fact I am trying to upload it through Cellar "manage attachments page, but it is taking forever and I suspect it is too large

dar512 12-08-2008 02:48 PM

Binky - It's a two step process. First you have to get the image from your camera to your computer. Then you have to upload it to the cellar.

Getting the image to your hard drive

This should work for most digital cameras. You should have received a (probably USB) cable with your camera. Plug the cable into your camera and your computer.

Turn the camera on. With the cable plugged in, it should act like a removable drive (just like a thumb/flash drive if you've ever used one of those).

Press Windows_key + E. That opens a My Computer window.

You should see your camera as a drive in the list. Click on the camera/drive. Explore around in there. You should find the picture(s) you want to save.

Press Windows_key + E again and click on My Documents and then My Pictures. Click and drag the pictures from your camera drive to My Pictures.

Your picture(s) should now be on your hard drive.

Uploading your pictures to the cellar
Start a new message or reply to one.
Look down below the "Submit Reply" and "Preview Post" buttons. You should see a "Manage Attachments" button. Click that.

Click on the Browse button and find the picture you want to upload to the cellar. Then click on upload. There are restrictions on the size of the files you can upload.

When your image is uploaded like this, you won't see the picture in preview.

Let me know if you still run into problems.

dar512 12-08-2008 02:49 PM

Then you want to download irfanview (free application).

With irfanview you can resize and/or resample the image to get it smaller.

Shawnee123 12-08-2008 02:54 PM

Or "open with" MS Office Picture Manager, if you don't have that other software and don't want to eff with it.

Go to Edit Pictures

Compress Pictures

Choose "web pages."

Save

I occasionally get rid of old images I have posted, to try to keep from hogging my fair share of server space. I can't "see" the check boxes to mark which ones I want to delete for ones older than today. Anyone else have this prob?

ETA who is downloading radar pictures?? wtf? lol
