We lost.
Conservatives won. Canada. I am not looking forward to becoming a State of America. I am not looking forward to becoming a part of the States anti-missal program, the one Martin, Liberal PM, snubbed bush on. I am not looking forward to the Redneck Harper taking away a woman’s choice. Would not surprise me if Harper were a closet BAC.It is not a good day.
No majority at least, though.
It is a weak minority for the Conservative party. Both parties spent mega bucks during the campaign. It will not be to Conservative benefit to propose anything extreme which will force a vote of confidence and another election.
What this means to me is, Harper cannot become bush’s puppy. Bucks or not, if Harper chooses to kiss bush’s a$$, there will be another election. There will be no cooperation with the American missal defence program. It will be status quo.
I like status quo, especially since we are second only to the Saudis in oil reserves. I saw somewhere we have ten times the amount of oil reserves than all the Arab and Persian countries combined, but I wont quote that without a reference handy. Status quo is cool; we can do nothing and just sit back and wait.
Water? Later, after all this is only my second post on this Forum.
Martin, at this moment, just resigned as the Liberals leader. I never liked Paul Martin, other than seeing the awe on his face in the presence of the Dalai Lama; Martin backstabbed Prime Minister Jean Cretien, (I loved Cretien). I personally never forgave Martin. Tonight he paid the piper.
I like status quo, especially since we are second only to the Saudis in oil reserves. I saw somewhere we have ten times the amount of oil reserves than all the Arab and Persian countries combined, but I wont quote that without a reference handy.
There are 175 billion barrels of proven oil reserves here, (Canada). That’s second to Saudi Arabia’s 260 billion but it’s only what companies can get with today’s technology.
The estimate of how many more barrels of oil are buried deeper underground is staggering. The total estimates could be two trillion or even higher.
That’s eight times the amount of reserves in Saudi Arabia. :mg:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/01/20/60minutes/main1225184.shtml
Still not ten times the reserves of all the Arab and Persian reserves combined, I will find it.
Conservative or Liberal government, we are cool.
(I know its vain, but is it kosher here to quote ones self?)
Hi dov, welcome.
I'm sorry to hear that you have so much oil. that means it is just a matter of time before we have to liberate your country form its oil, err, cruel dictatorship, thus leaving one less country for some of us to consider moving to...
I'm sorry you're bummed and I can understand it. I was pretty upset about Bush's win in '04. At least you can DO a vote of no confidence if need be (which I certainly hope won't be needed.) We're stuck. Long, big sigh.
Oh, speaking of oil, my Non-Western Environments prof said this: "We can't use Iraqi oil. It's not the KIND of oil we use." WTF?? and WTF kind of class is Non-Western Environments, anyway?
It sounds like a misunderstanding of how crude oil works. The oil that comes out of the ground in Iraq is different than the stuff that comes out in Texas or the North Sea or etc. They require slightly different refining methods... the stuff out of M.E. is supposed to be higher quality ("light sweet crude", with low sulfur content) and thus easier to refine. But all stuff called crude oil can be refined to produce petrol/gasoline.
It may be that US refinieries are not equipped to handle Iraqi crude oil for some reason, like there's a substance in it that they don't remove. But it doesn't matter because if SOME refinery somewhere can refine it, it has the same economic value to the world. (You may be allergic to peanuts, but the fact that peanuts are sold cheaply, lowers the price of cashews that you aren't allergic to.)
Nice to meet you Monkey.
Likewise.
Welcome to the Cellar.
Hi dov, welcome.
I'm sorry to hear that you have so much oil. that means it is just a matter of time before we have to liberate your country form its oil, err, cruel dictatorship,
Hahaha, subtle as a sledge hammer.
Thank you for the welcome fff.
Buhbuh and his other brother Buhbuh from Georgia could not handle our minus 60c weather. An American invasion here would make the Nazis in Russia look like a day in the tropics. Who needs an army when Mother Nature protects us.
I'm sorry you're bummed and I can understand it. I was pretty upset about Bush's win in '04.
Brianna I am not bummed, being a minority government keeps the status quo, relatively. I am curios as to what type of leader Harper will be, how skilful or not he will be in parliament.
If more have your bush attitude, I may like it here.
Hope there are a few BAC rednecks to bounce off on here. (Just a few)
Thank you for your concern.
I'm a redneck, bounce away :)
It's okay, we'll still protect you with our "missals" even if you don't help foot the bill.
/spar
Welcome, Dov. We're going to need all you hosers up there to construct and pay for the infrastructure to liberate all the petroleum from the oil sands they're trapped in before we'll be ready to liberate you from your oppressive Socialist government.
Let us know when you've got that taken care of, okay?
Welcome, Dov. We're going to need all you hosers up there to construct and pay for the infrastructure to liberate all the petroleum from the oil sands.
Thank you for the welcome Elspode.
Its cool, China is taking care of that concern. They have set up the technology and are personally extracting what we are selling them. We are the States number one supplier of oil. We are a bit nervous considering you eight trillion dollar deficit. We kinda like being paid for our oil.
The United States set deficit records with most of its major trading ... a $8.1 billion imbalance with Canada, the country's largest trading partner.

China pays cod.
I'm a redneck, bounce away :)
It's okay, we'll still protect you with our "missals" even if you don't help foot the bill.
Missals are not your concern, suitcases are. :nuke: Anywhere, any time, any place, and that is impossible to defend against no matter how much illegal eavesdropping wiretapping you do. Missal defence is a useless way of spending a buck, a buck you do not have.
Did I do relatively ok for my first redneck bounce here?
(I may act as if I am indifferent to affirmation or not, shhhh, I like it)
I would say on a base of one to ten, I did a six.
No, you continued to misspell "missile" after being mocked for it and that removed two points.
dov is kinda bugging even me now. Relax, ya Canuck ya. I get so tired of furriners coming in here and taking that stance right away. Go fix your own country and then enlighten us all, OK? Jeez.
and if you have a problem with Georgia Boys you can kiss my ass. Outside of that, Welcome to the Cellar. Have a nice day!
No, you continued to misspell "missile" after being mocked for it and that removed two points.
Actually, weeding out the spell checkers, I am one for one, so far.
I give myself four points.
dov is kinda bugging even me now. Relax, ya Canuck ya. I get so tired of furriners coming in here and taking that stance right away.
That is my stance, now or then.
Did I miss the newbies must stick to Pollyanna, for six months, or at the discretion of the cells hierarchy, in cells rulebook?
:headshake
You may always post whatever you like, but the judgement part never ends. :D
I thought "we lost" was what Georgia boys tell the cops when they're weaving and crossing the centerline. :bolt:
You may always post whatever you like, but the judgement part never ends.
How true! I get beat up about my horrid spelling on a regular basis. You'd think that after almost 3,000 mis-spelled posts, folks would have resigned themselves, but no-oh! :eyebrow:
Anyhow, If you all have that much oil, you will soon be a protectorate like the Virgin Islands or something. Don't forget that we have Alaskans and Montanans who are also quite used to the cold. We also have Samoan lawyers for when things get REALLY tough!
So welcome, and don't worry about your government. It will be taking a turn for the worse in the near future! :headshake
That is my stance, now or then.

relax. don't do it. Don't have to stick to Pollyanna. I said fix your own country and then come tell us how to run ours. Obviously your fellow countrymen and women are screwed enough to vote for the conservative, bush-loving blokes. Fix that.
dov, your quiz:

It will be in print in time for xmas.

Some people enter a room, cyber or real, find themselves a safe vantage point, take notes on who is who and once they have a general idea of the people places and things, will get a toe wet, then a foot, then both, etc.
Other people, like me, enter a room, immediately push buttons, measures the responses, sits back a while and decides if this is home or not. It is my nature being a button-pushing, people studying, man.
Unbelievably, I am a funny guy. Lol

On top of that, the $4 billion in illegal tariffs on our soft lumber you stole from us. $12.1 billion you owe us is not chicken feed and it would go far in remedying some of our meagre problems.
BTW, we have no problems. We make excellent igloos, and take care of our sled dogs.

It’s an impotent minority Government we voted in, equals status quo, which is fine with me and I appreciate your concern.
We will not become Blairish Bush puppies.
Our Conservatives are relative to your Ultra Left.
Our Liberals have tree hugging exercises every morn. Their slogan, No Tree Left Un Hugged.

I did the east coast, phone work.
Georgia was my favourite, the receptionists, Georgia peaches, melted from my chocolate coated, British, French Canadian accent. They passed me through to wherever I wanted to go, effortlessly. I had them on hello.
Humility is not my strong suit.
Thank you, have a nice day yourself.

That debt will be cancelled when we save you from Sharia law. China doesn't pay cash, they just deduct it from Walmarts bill. ;)
. . . not looking forward to becoming a State of America. I am not looking forward to becoming a part of the States anti-missal program . . .
Hey! We're not anti-Catholic! :p
I'm no fan of Bush or anyone who likes him, but exactly what is wrong with making a missile defense system? I think we should have had one decades ago. I'd like to make a defense system that was fool proof, and then give the plans to every single nation on earth so all missiles would be useless.
Heck, missile defense plans and residential bomb shelter plans... spare bedroom, winecellar, sleepover accommodation and even a place to park your Spacebag(tm) storage!
It's all suitably Heinleinesque to me. Prepare, IOT Prevail.
I'm no fan of Bush or anyone who likes him, but exactly what is wrong with making a missile defense system?
Missile defence systems are useless against gorilla warfare, which I believe, such warfare in the States, will rival the suicide bombings of Israel, Iraq, and Afghanistan, combined, which the American citizen are not close to being emotionally prepared for. Instant code red and your country shuts down, not like Israel, when a bomb goes off in the shop next door, Israelis finish their dessert. I do not wish that fate on anyone, but I think it is inevitable. There is no need for any terrorist attacks on the homeland of the States at this time. I do not mean to offend anybody but it would be redundant, Bush is doing a fine job on destroying the States single handily. They are patient, AQ, but I agree with your ideal, Radar, making missiles impotent. Wish you could find a way to make suitcases impotent. Dirty bombs.
My personal ideal is no child should starve to death, anywhere in the world, or die of a disease because she or he was born where the medication to save her is a political issue and unavailable. Clinton recently negotiated with several pharmaceuticals to supply medication, which may be affordable to the so-called third world. It is a beginning. Bono, from U2 is also on that mission. I cling to hope.
That debt will be cancelled when we save you from Sharia law. China doesn't pay cash, they just deduct it from Walmarts bill. ;)

oxymoron costs you 5 points,
coming off as if you were in charge of your far superior country, and we are in charge of our theiving, deadbeat future third world country (how much of the $12.1b do I personally owe you, again?) costs you another 17
being an arrogant french canadian dickhead costs you 30
you come out of this with negative 156 points (triple bonus because you like little boys)
and in closing let me say .......welcome aboard, dickhead!
I have to give you credit for your insight. You do the math.
Thank you for the welcome.
(Your personal debt of the eight trillion is around $27,000.)
Is the check in the mail?
I will respect you in the morning.
Canada's population clock
By applying this rate to the estimated Canadian population as of July 1st, ... At this rate, the population of Canada will reach 32,569,394 by July 1st, 2006. ...
looks like i owe canada about $41 and you.... about $0.000006
think i'll just blow you a kiss instead
Lets do coffee while we still have a couple of bucks in our pockets.
My treat.
The trade imbalance is how much more we buy from you than you buy from us, that's all. It's not unpaid, every tranaction (for practical purposes) is paid. It's just keeping track of wealth flow. ;)
If you go bankrupt today, the best we can do is wait in line for our five cents to the dollar, max.
Couple of natural disasters, a few dirty bombs, Code Red for two or three months, you are a write-off. I do not wish this upon you or anybody, but it is more than possible, for arguments sake. A twelve billion dollar write-off hurts, and it doesn’t even give us a tax deductible break.
Face it, you are a credit risk, and China is not. We have mega deals with China. Of course, it is cheaper dealing with you, re transport etc, but we cannot take the chance of having all our eggs in one basket.
We are your number one trading partner, to date, and I and people as paranoid as I am, are concerned.
What xoB is trying to tell you is that America bought and PAID FOR more things from Canada than Canada bought and PAID FOR from America.
And you don't need to worry about America's interest in your oil. America is far more likely to need Canadian water before it needs Canadian oil.
No one has yet asked you if you are a separatist. Well, out with it.
America is far more likely to need Canadian water before it needs Canadian oil.
Water, BINGO!
I believe we supply the States with eighty percent of their hydro, I am not sure, and I will look it up later. BTW, we are the largest diamond suppliers in the world as well.
No one has yet asked you if you are a separatist. Well, out with it.
My mother tongue is English. I only speak French for sex or money. I am Canadian.
Water, your sharp Beestie.
You SURE your mother tongue is English? You write the way my mother's family sounds. I have to agree with LJ on this one, you are a French Canuck dickhead. whine, whine, whine, we supply you with THIS, we supply you with THAT, eighty percent of your water, all your oil! hey, what about creton? How much of that shit do you give us? If you are so freaking wonderful why are you such a bit player? Nobody cares about Canada, not even my mom! I'm sorry Canada is filled with bitter people--maybe it's the weather, eh?
Fix your broken, limping, gasping health care system.
And if you aren't concerned about the latest vote, why did you bother with this at all? My cousins have a word for people like you: French. Says it all.
Congratulations Brianna, you are my first iggy.
I refuse to have a discourse with crude people who have a flimsy enough ego to attempt to put others down to compensate for their own inadequacies. I bet you drive a boat of a car and have a gun collection that you are very proud of. I will know when you grow up and may acknowledge you then, maybe.
We are the largest producer of hydro-electric power in the world
In 2000, Canada exported 50.06 Twh (valued at $4.08 billion) to the United States. This trade has helped customers in a number of provinces enjoy electricity rates that are among the lowest in the world.
Canada is a net exporter to the U.S. largely due to its hydro resources with exports originating mainly from Quebec, Manitoba and British Columbia.
Wheeeeeeew Howdy! What's an iggy? Is that some sort of Frenchie Shame-On-You award?
Boat of a car? Guns?
dov doesn't know me very well, eh?
What was it? The creton crack? Sorry, sore spot for you?
You're totally French and you know it.
I'm no fan of Bush or anyone who likes him, but exactly what is wrong with making a missile defense system? I think we should have had one decades ago. I'd like to make a defense system that was fool proof, and then give the plans to every single nation on earth so all missiles would be useless.
From my perspective, there's no problem
researching missile defense. Even if it never works, a lot of good technology can come out of it. But it
doesn't work yet, and they want to deploy it, which is a stunning waste of money.
I liked Montreal because it's a city of restaurants, and I like food. Walking downtown to find a sidewalk cafe was particularly memorable. It's clean and cultured and only a little bit rude. I envy you for having that city as home.
A trade imbalance is not a debt; it merely means Canada is buying more from the US than the US is buying from Canada. It's not necessarily a bad thing. I have a terrible trade imbalance with my local grocery store, as they buy nothing from me, but I am going to continue the relationship anyway.
Guerilla warfare happens with local militias. Gorilla warfare happens in zoos.
You really ought to have answered the quiz, there's no shame in it.

I don't have any differences with your facts but do want to point out that Reagan's at-the-time senseless cold-war escalation is what broke the Soviet Union economically. Sometimes, the bark is worse than the bite. And when it comes to poker and bluffing, that is one area (even if the only one) where W is extremely competent.
I believe we supply the States with eighty percent of their hydro...
Currently, Canada does not export water to anyone which, in my opinion, is not a sustainable position.

How do you figure? I mean he openly lies, and the we the people seem to be buying it, but I wouldn't say that is because he is a good liar, I would say it is because we are a bunch of apathetic spoiled suckers....... Perhaps you could provide an example of Bush being "extremely competent" at poker and or bluffing?
:worried:
Sometimes, the bark is worse than the bite. And when it comes to poker and bluffing,
Bluffing only works if your cards are face down. Everybody knows that missile defense doesn't work.
I, for one, like dov. He's not afraid to put up his dukes and mix it up a bit. and seems to be well read and maybe latently sarcastic (gorilla warfare hee hee).
When I lived in squirrelington, vt we'd cross over to montrebec all de time. The us border guards were far more dickish to me than any canuck or queeb was.
Plus, the montreal chicks are hot and fit. I never saw even a leetle bit chubby girl there. Or guys for that matter. Not that I was looking beyond seeing what the competition was. (reason # 733 why I am still a US citizen)
We are your number one trading partner, to date, and I and people as paranoid as I am, are concerned.
HA and well you should be, considering our not inelegant track record of personal and corporate bankruptcy and outright pillaging of our own population! Do you think we'd have any sympathy for people with british/french hybrid accents?
Hell, most americans have no idea what maple syrup is or should taste like. THEY USE PANCAKE SYRUP!!!
Gotta go.
No, you continued to misspell "missile" after being mocked for it and that removed two points.
I think he means Missal, like in a book of religious ceremony and doctrine.
Those can be quite dangerous when lobbed at a country, you know?
I think that the incidental nuclear deterrent the US provides to Canada is probably being considered as payment at this point. That should be worth a couple billion barrels of oil per warhead.
Very true. If the Russkies weren't scared shitless of us, they would have nuked Canada back in the 50s.
Yup, I like it here. You pass. I will hang around a while.
(My major decision of the day was deciding if I should post Yup or Yes. I am not much of a decider; I am more of a doer, borderline ocd. Those that know me would laugh at borderline.)
I liked Montreal because it's a city of restaurants, and I like food. Walking downtown to find a sidewalk cafe was particularly memorable. It's clean and cultured and only a little bit rude. I envy you for having that city as home.
I am grateful.
You really ought to have answered the quiz, there's no shame in it.
I do not do quizzes. It is one of my quirks. They remind me of authority. I
hate authority.
I think he means Missal, like in a book of religious ceremony and doctrine.
Those can be quite dangerous when lobbed at a country, you know?
Did I mention I am dyslexic? Word’s spell-check does not pick up errors such as missals. To them it is spelt properly, but they do not know it is the wrong properly spelt word.
Next time you are in town, Undertoad, I will show you the seedier side of Montreal. It is not in the tourist guides. Are you into seedier?
Very true. If the Russkies weren't scared shitless of us, they would have nuked Canada back in the 50s.
If we weren’t next door to you we would not have to worry about being nuked, now would we?
Being your neighbour comes with a high price, plus a bonus for you, you get to drink our beer, not the piss water you are used to.

Molson? Labatt's? piss water.
I bet you drive a boat of a car and have a gun collection that you are very proud of.
Since Brianna's an iggy, I will have to answer to this: I miss my pickup. I bought it when I was selling guns, and it had a padded bed for the oak and glass display cases. Had to get rid of it for something more fuel-stingy. I think it would've fallen into the category you describe, though.
I'm not overly proud of my gun collection, but there are a couple of nice ones.
As for the trade deficit, how about we just send you all the worthless Canadian coinage that's rattling around in our tills? Not a week goes by that I don't find some dime with a woman's face on it in my change jar. All told, it must add up to several thousand dollars (CAN). Maybe a buck fitty in scrap metal otherwise.
You guys have some fabulous fishing and hunting, though. I would love the opportunity to donate to your wildlife management program in exchange for some moose burger and salmon steaks.
I knew there was a silver lining.
I like Canada. but lately it seems i've come upon a lot of Canadians with really bad superiority issues. like what country you reside in defines you as a person. I can;t decide if it's because they feel like they're better or worse than we are, but it does seem to be on their minds quite a bit. always comparing themselves to us. what's the difference between us? aren't we basically the same? shut up with all the propaganda already. you didnt invent Canada in your image or anything.
What I don't understand is MY getting the honor of an iggy and LJ didn't.
Sexism. Plain, old-fashioned sexism.
Cock. (not you, LJ) :)
what's the difference between us? aren't we basically the same? shut up with all the propaganda already. you didnt invent Canada in your image or anything.
If your were to backpack it around Europe and the world, would you put a stars and stripes or a maple leaf on your backpack? (Including the Mid East.)
Propaganda is lies. Show me where I have lied.
Its nice actually, you have given us a new and proud National Identity.
We are not American. :headshake
see what i mean?
remora people. dov, why don't you just be you? put your fucking flag away. tell us about yourself or your life, or.....shit i don;t know, but don't try to pick a fight on an american board about how much better you are because you're canadian. all you'll get is a big FUCK YOU. you only make yourself seem a little pathetic in your attempts to convince us ( and yourself ) that you hold some moral high ground.
and propaganda is not just lies. it's sales. you're selling.
i aint buying.
oh, and because i think 'iggy' [ghey] lists are for pussies, here's what bri said:

So, just out of idle curiosity, why did you come to an American board to bitch about the outcome of a Canadian election? Let's get real here. Its not as if Americans even KNEW you guys were having an election, never mind feeling too concerned about the results.
don't try to pick a fight on an american board about how much better you are because you're canadian.
This is an American board??
OOOOOOOPSSSSS. Nevermind.
dov, why don't you just be you? put your fucking flag away. tell us about yourself or your life,
I am 50. I am single. Three divorces. Three beautiful children, thank god.
I am a seeker. My best friend is my cat, pookie, I love him. I am an ok guy who thinks much too much. I am an insomniac, I power nap during the day. I am an artist, mostly sculpt, marble, steel and old rustic wood, and I am a fund raiser, just completed an exhausting campaign about a week ago. I am still burnt.
Ok cards on the table, political, social. I hate bush, for the obvious reasons, war crimes and crimes against humanity, plus destroying the economy of a country and its population I used to love. I am not one of those who white washes it and says I don’t hate Americans, it’s the American administration I hate.
I am Jewish. I am knowledgeable of the 80 million Evangelical Bacs in the States. Evangelical Bacs make up ten percent of the worlds population. They have a mission, pre, post, present, Tribulation. Most know it as the Rapture, if they know of it at all. I will skip over the day-to-day ideology and get to the meat. To ensure the second coming of their Christ, thirteen million Jews, the total population of Jews world wide, must fry to death in Israel. 144k will be saved through conversion. I hate Evangelicals, who btw, are running the white house.
I hate the neocons that are tied in with the doctrine of the Evangelicals.
I hate everyone who voted for bush. I hate everyone who could have taken the hand of his or her neighbour to the voting booth to ensure bush would not win. Five percent harder works by anybody who were aware of the monster administration in the white house would have ensured its defeat. I hate those lazy rationalizing, justifying so called lefty liberals who could have done more. The Bacs did it, knocking on doors ensuring the present administrations victory. Why didn’t the lefties knock on doors? No excuse, will be good enough for me to forgive anybody and everybody who is responsible for taking a country most of the world idealized, including me, and turned it evil.
How does that affect me? It profoundly affects me. I used to have dreams, good guys beating the bad guys, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, were the good guys. That fantasy is dead in me today, on an emotional level. Intellectual? Later maybe, but know I am personally affected on many levels. I am affected by your politics. The whole world is. I am pretty sure most here know the financial cost of
EITHER YOUR FOR ME OR AGAINST ME. Four billion dollars cost for the illegal invasion of Iraq, a week or month. I am not sure, it’s a few bucks. I would have preferred to have been spent elsewhere. However, who am I to prefer where you spend your money, I am just a Canadian Jewish Dreamer.
One thing and one-thing matters to me, the three year old dieing of aids in Africa.
A foundation run by former US President Bill Clinton has negotiated a deal that will cut the cost of HIV tests and Aids treatment in developing countries.
Clinton
Fallushia. She inhaled the States, Chemical Weapon, White Phosphorus, (WP), known as Willy Pete, she burnt to death burnt from the inside out.
Ask yourselves, is there anything more you could have personally done to ensure that monster would not get a second term? Let me know what you come up with please.
please.
Molson? Labatt's? piss water.
Brador.
So, just out of idle curiosity, why did you come to an American board to bitch about the outcome of a Canadian election? Let's get real here.
Conservative party won our national elections. Historically Conservatives have kissed the states ass. That is the link to my thread; all your ideology could be absorbed by our new prime minister Steven Harper. That is the motivation of this thread to explore your policies which we may adapt. It is a minority Government and most consider it relatively impotent. I am not so sure. I do not like surprises so I keep the worse case scenario open.
Its not as if Americans even KNEW you guys were having an election, never mind feeling too concerned about the results.
Ya, the same Americans who think we live in igloos.
I am knowledgeable of the 80 million Evangelical Bacs in the States.
Not too knowledgable. The actual number is about a quarter of that.
The Bacs did it, knocking on doors ensuring the present administrations victory. Why didn’t the lefties knock on doors?
Politics does not work how you think it does.
I saw footage of a 24-year-old orange-hatted Howard Dean volunteer from Seattle doing door-knocking during the Iowa caucuses. It did not have the effect you think. It went a long way to explain why he came in an unexpected third place. Do not hire 24-year-old orange-hatted Seattleite to knock on doors in Iowa. You will lose.
Not too knowledgable. The actual number is about a quarter of that.
Prove me wrong.
The number of evangelicals in the U. S. at about 25-30% of the population, or roughly between 70 and 80 million people.
http://www.wheaton.edu/isae/defining_evangelicalism.html
Most scholars say the evangelical population of the United States is about 25 percent.
http://www.suntimes.com/special_sections/evangelical/cst-nws-evangdef11.html
Ned and about 65 million other fellow American Evangelical cultists love Jews for one simple reason: They hope to bundle every hairy Jewish ass up, air-freight them to the West Bank and East Jerusalem (once those areas have been cleansed of Muslims), and use the Jews as bait to bring upon the Rapture, as kindling in the Apocalypse, the final battle that will bring Jesus back to Earth. None of this can happen until every last Jew is penned into the occupied territories—and the Jews won't get there unless the far-right runs Israel and America. Currently 65 million American cultists are using everything in their power, from prayer to politics, to make this Helter Skelter scenario come true.
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith Jehovah, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried.
(Zechariah 13:8, 9)
In other words, two-thirds of the world's Jews, now crammed into the dusty West Bank, go to the woodchipper, and the surviving third (or perhaps as few as 144,000, depending on how you read your Bible) gets forcibly converted to Evangelical Christianity. Number nine, number nine…

Do not hire 24-year-old orange-hatted Seattleite to knock on doors in Iowa. You will lose.
How many doors did you knock on?
You asked the Evangelicals how many there are. I asked adherents.com.

Evangelicals Are Scarce
All Barna Research studies define "evangelicals" as individuals who meet the born again criteria; say their faith is very important in their life today; believe they have a personal responsibility to share their religious beliefs about Christ with non-Christians; acknowledge the existence of Satan; contend that eternal salvation is possible only through God's grace, not through good deeds; believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth; and describe God as the all-knowing, all-powerful, perfect deity who created the universe and still rules it today. In this approach, being classified as an evangelical has no relationship to church affiliation or attendance, nor does it rely upon people describing themselves as "evangelical."
This classification model indicates that
only 8% of adults are evangelicals. Barna Research data show that 12% of adults were evangelicals a decade ago, but
the number has dropped by a third as Americans continue to reshape their theological views.
Not surprisingly, there were only three denominations that had at least one-quarter of their adherents qualify as evangelicals: the Assemblies of God (33%), non-denominational Protestant (29%), and Pentecostal (27%) churches. One out of every seven Baptists (14%) met the evangelical classification. An unexpectedly high proportion of people associated with the Churches of Christ - 12% - fit this standard. (Barna explained that this was because a majority of the category was comprised of individuals associated with congregations not part of the United Church of Christ cluster, which tends to have very liberal interpretations of Scripture.) Churches that have the lowest proportion of adherents meeting the evangelical criteria were the Catholic, Episcopal, and Mormon churches, each of which has just 1% of its people in this category.
Evangelicals Are Scarce
I would not tell a gaggle of evangelicals that.
It was a very good try. I appreciate your efforts. Thank you Undertoad.
A widely accepted definition comes from British historian David Bebbington, who says evangelicalism has four hallmarks, namely beliefs that: lives need to be changed, the gospel needs to be actively spread, and the Bible should be held in unique regard, as well as an emphasis on the sacrifice Jesus Christ made, dying on the cross to atone for the sins of humankind.
Most scholars say the evangelical population of the United States is about 25 percent.
Evangelical
Evangelical: "The conservative wing of Protestant Christianity comprising many denominations and other faith groups that tightly hold to historical Christian creeds, beliefs and practices." This umbrella term includes Christian Identity, Fundamentalist, Pentecostal and Reconstructionist, some Baptist, and many other faith groups. In a study comparing Evangelical and mainline denominations, a Princeton University study included the following as Evangelical denominations : Assemblies of God, Southern Baptists, Independent Baptists, black Protestants, African Methodist Episcopal, African Methodist Episcopal Zion; Church of Christ, Churches of God in Christ, Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, National Baptist Church, National Progressive Baptist Church, Nondenominational, Pentecostal denominations, and the Presbyterian Church in America. 1 Many theologians would also include the conservative faction within such mainline denominations as the Episcopal Church, USA, the Presbyterian Church (USA), and the United Methodist Church.
Evangelical
Barna Research Ltd. They define an "evangelical" very precisely.
You chose the extreme, very good.
Very precisely.
Undertoad, check out the link, it has the full range. (If You wish)
Ask yourselves, is there anything more you could have personally done to ensure that monster would not get a second term? Let me know what you come up with please.
I volunteered for the democrats and went door to door in my town, trying to get out the vote for Kerry. I lost track of all the people I talked to. I put up lawn signs. I folded and distributed campaign literature. When the election judge in my Republican district informed me that my name along with those of a bunch of other registered democrats had mysteriously vanished from the registered voters' list, I kicked and screamed and forced them to give me a provisional ballot. Short of assasinating W., I don't know how much more I could have done. :eyebrow:
marichiko, I don’t seem to be in the best of spirits presently, I am tired and its impossible to sleep. Your post lifted me. Thank you. For what it is worth, coming from an arrogant Canadian, you are a good man.
Ask yourselves, is there anything more you could have personally done to ensure that monster would not get a second term?
Nominating someone other than Teresa Heinz' husband would have been a good start. The rest of the election was pretty much damage control after that.
Nominating someone other than Teresa Heinz' husband would have been a good start. The rest of the election was pretty much damage control after that.
Ya, a lot of dems found a rational for being lazy. Heinz is a decent one. I’m sure the families of the murdered 100k Iraqi civilians who were turned to dust can empathise with you.
*sigh* He's older, he's Jewish, he's depressed and, if that weren't enough, he's arrogant.
Just the kind I go for!
In a perfect world, we would've hooked up, but, now, *SIGH*, we never will.
Beestie, you missed yet another entity that cheated Marichiko.
dov, we have previously and thoroughly debunked the 100k figure. I know that won't mean anything to you.

Jeez, Beestie, at least get your facts straight. I don't live in Boulder, which thanks to the presence of the University of Colorado, is a cess pool of bleeding heart liberals. I live down south in Focus of the Family Land. You'd adore this county for its arch Republican make-up. Therefore, your quote should have been:

That's OK, you don't have to thank me. :p
If America did, in some strange parallel universe default we're *all* screwed.
That's my 2c, in Australian dollars.

I saw your pic, incredible environment. You look very happy.
I am noticing the variety here. Gives me the freedom to be me. (Potentially, I have that pretentious mask on as I usually do when I walk into an unfamiliar room.) I am good at what I do, and I bore easily. I have been on forums where the posters were consistently ultra left wing Marxist feminists or others sights where the rednecks pass around a bottle of JD, or my fave, closets bacs. Within five minutes I can pigeon hole them. Not so here, plus you all have a certain respect for one another which transcends your political doctrines.
I like it here and I hope you can tolerate my arrogant facade long enough to get to know me.
(The jury is still deliberating whether it is a facade or not.)
Did I mention I am dyslexic? Word’s spell-check does not pick up errors such as missals. To them it is spelt properly, but they do not know it is the wrong properly spelt word.
Don't worry. ZippyT's spelling makes you look really good.
And we love our ZippyT. There's a point at which it becomes endearing, you know?
or my fave, closets bacs.
I guess I've figured out from context what "bac" means, but what's it short for?
I'm guessing Born Again Christian.
Which is not the same as an Evangelical, which I believe is where the conceptual problem is occuring in this exchange.
I'm guessing Born Again Christian.

Born Again Christians are evangelicals, but evangelicals are not necessarily BACs.
I could be wrong. I am teachable. Teach me wolf.
I am teachable. Teach me wolf.
uh-oh.
If you had any idea how many Pagans have resulted from just this sort of question...
Been there, done that, including the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Lancet study.
dov, we have previously and thoroughly debunked the 100k figure. I know that won't mean anything to you.
Impossible for you to have done so, come to a decisive conclusion on either side of the coin. It matters greatly to me. I have not a clue as to why you would say,
I know that won't mean anything to you.
Gen. Tommy Franks, the top officer in the U.S. Central Command for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, summed up the American military's attitude when he told reporters during the Afghan campaign, "We don't do body counts.
Iraqis Murdered"
I must have taken part in over 3000 wasted posts on the topic. I hold that at least 100k Iraqi citizen were murdered by the Americans. There is nothing you can do, say, or cut and paste, which will alter my position. I will not attempt to prove my belief.
What upsets me the most is when even one murdered Iraqi child becomes a number, a stat.
I'm guessing Born Again Christian.
Doh! Of course.
I hold that at least 100k Iraqi citizen were murdered by the Americans. There is nothing you can do, say, or cut and paste, which will alter my position. I will not attempt to prove my belief.
Say what you will, you've got to admire someone who refuses to change his position NO MATTER WHAT sort of information he's given to the contrary. That's what my mom calls 'stick-to-it-tiveness'. ;)
Unfortunately, every day the position becomes more right.
I'm not arguing with his position. I'm saying you've got to consider new info when it comes in.
Right, I was just pointing out that with this particular position, the longer he holds out, the more right he becomes.
On an impersonal level, 10k, 100k Iraqi civilian casualties, forgetting mommies seeing their babies shredded or babies watching their mommies shredded by a fragmentation hand grenades, no matter what the number, we can all agree innocent people (not numbers, not stats) were murdered, (collateral damage). It is an illegal invasion, the Commander in Chief is ultimately responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity, and in the final analysis, will face a jury.
(I won’t mention Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, or transporting prisoners to torture friendly countries at this time)
10k or 100k, same crime, same horror.
The M67 grenade is used by the US armed forces. It replaces the M61 grenade used during Vietnam and the older MK2 "pineapple" grenade used since WWII.The M67 can be thrown about 40 m by the average soldier. It has a 3 to 5 second fuze that ignites explosives packed inside a round body. Shrapnel is provided by the grenade casing, and produces a casualty radius of 15 m, with a fatality radius of 5 m. The arming mechanism is typical of modern grenades: to arm the device, pull the pin; to ignite the fuze, release the spoon.
I'm not arguing with his position. I'm saying you've got to consider new info when it comes in.
Media and numbers doesn’t matter, they are part of the propaganda, desensitizing us into forgetting there are actual human beings dieing, but stats, which every forum I have attended, focus on impersonal stats, pure ego, 100k dead, oh ya? I will prove 20k dead, pats self on the back.
The first casualty when war comes is Truth. U.S. Senator Hiram Johnson, 1917
In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies. Winston Churchill
We live in a dirty and dangerous world. There are some things the general public does not need to know about and shouldn't. I believe democracy flourishes when the government can take legitimate steps to keep its secrets and when the press can decide whether to print what it knows. Katharine Graham, Washington Post owner
All propaganda must be so popular and on such an intellectual level, that even the most stupid of those towards whom it is directed will understand it.... Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise. Adolf Hitler
Wartime media propaganda*sigh* He's older, he's Jewish, he's depressed and, if that weren't enough, he's arrogant.
You are pretty insightful, fuck the iggy, I never iggy anybody whoe can see through at least 66 layers of my persona. Square that and you will be close to knowing me.
All politics aside, dov, I fear you are not sleeping because you are ruminating on horrible things that you cannot control and it is making you feel depressed. Or, you are depressed because you're not sleeping due to ruminating...look: The point is, have you seen someone about this?
Dov, you are making yourself soul sick over something that you can do nothing about. While you may have a low opinion of the US, imagine what it is to be an American who has a conscience and a sense of justice and cares deeply about her country. At least your hands are relatively clean. Ours are not. I look around me and realize that every other person voted for W. to continue another 4 years of this barbarian war. Many of my fellow Americans STILL think the war in Iraq is justified. You haven't met UG, yet. I'm sure he'll be along shortly and you will NOT be delighted to make his acquaintance. A year or so ago I read a paper written by one of your countrymen who is a Colonel in the Canadian Army and was writing from his position as a delegate to a conference on the international laws of war. This Canadian Colonel made a brilliant argument that the current US administration and the top ranking members of our armed forces would be found guilty if the US was ever forced to go before an international tribunal such as the one at Nuremberg which condemned so many of the German high command to death or life long imprisonment after WWII.
Thank you for saying that I looked happy in the picture in my profile. I WAS happy. I had just spent a week camped in the wilds of southwestern Colorado and hadn't listened to the news on TV or even so much as glanced at a newspaper. I spent my days traveling the back roads with my cat - yes, my cat - and reading the poetry of Mary Oliver and Gary Snyder, and marveling at encounters with great horned owls and night hawks and my very first wild lynx and listening to the coyotes' song at night.
I am acquainted with one of Colorado's state representatives and he told me that after the last legislative session he was so soul sick that he had to retreat to the mountains alone for a month because he was so weary of his fellow members of the legislature and humanity in general.
Maybe you need to do the equivalent. The sorrows of this world are great and our spirits are fragile. Take care of yours.
*sigh* He's older, he's Jewish, he's depressed and, if that weren't enough, he's arrogant.
Just the kind I go for!
In a perfect world, we would've hooked up, but, now, *SIGH*, we never will.
The odor I get off of this guy is 'crank.' Like tw, he is ruled by his resentments, and his resentments border on hysteria, as his "about me, and I hate Bush" post shows.
I don't think anybody has any business hating on somebody who breaks two totalitarian regimes while in office. That's the action of colossally stupid people. Or of people who just can't cope with human liberty -- but now I'm repeating myself.
All politics aside, dov, I fear you are not sleeping because you are ruminating on horrible things that you cannot control and it is making you feel depressed. Or, you are depressed because you're not sleeping due to ruminating...look: The point is, have you seen someone about this?
Thank you for your concern, Brianna. I do some social work, (one of my degrees is psychology), and I know the symptoms of depression, including sleeplessness, lack of libido, etc. I am not depressed, thank god. I have always been an insomniac, always. I power nap, an hour here, three hours there. My life style that I have created for myself enables me to do so. I am very rarely tired. (Possibly reading your mind, no, I am not manic)
I have a wonderful network of friends, teachers, and mentors.
My first cousin is my Doctor, he knows my situation, re sleep, of course, and knows it is not an issue and that I am healthy physically and emotionally.
I will put this as gently as I can, as I mentioned I appreciate your concern, but do not brain pick me anymore please, on a non-intellectual level.
I never ruminate. lol I face my demons head on.
I don't think anybody has any business hating on somebody who breaks two totalitarian regimes while in office.
Afghanistan had its largest poppy crop in its history, supplying the world with eighty six percent of its opium. The War Lords are crying all the way to the bank.
Seems you are a fan of Anarchy re both Afghanistan and Iraq. Anybody can break anything, (who breaks two totalitarian regimes.) Fixing it take brains and there definitely is a lack there of. He has not a clue how to fix it. He cannot stay, he cannot leave, and worst of all, he cannot even steal their oil. Four billion dollars a week, out of your pockets, for the troops to do absolutely nothing, other than being killed.
At least now I know your standards, if you have any at all is the question. You do the clone thingy pretty well, but then again all clones do the clone thingy pretty well.
Answer me two things, Urbane Guerrilla, please, where are the WMDs, not the WP and Napalm the American troops are using, and do you remember that guy OBL?
A year or so ago I read a paper written by one of your countrymen who is a Colonel in the Canadian Army and was writing from his position as a delegate to a conference on the international laws of war. In addition, The Hague where Slobodan Milosevic and others accused of war crimes are being tried.
The Hague
Technically, if bush crossed the border, into Canada, I can make a citizens arrest and Canada can try him for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Technically, I said, not practically, but I would love cuffing bush. hahahaha
(Also tease him with a touch of flogging, but I am sure condi is better at it)
The sorrows of this world are great and our spirits are fragile. Take care of yours.
The sorrows of this world are my sorrows and my responsibility.
I am blessed with grace and my spirit is forever strong and unaffected thank you, marichiko.
I have my outlets.
Dov, you have absolutely no right to sneer, no matter how vociferously you claim it: it's invalid. Also, it would be masochistic of you to try, for the harder you do, the more I chainsaw and sandbag you for leftwing lunacy: totalitarianism and supporting totalitarianism are things of the Left, after all. I can last longer than you can -- we're of an age, but I think better than you do and am permanently ready to prove it, at least to the objective observer.
It's inaccurate to speak of my being "a fan of anarchy". I am untroubled by the instability that is occurring as Iraq transitions from socialist oligarchy to greater democracy, and since Afghanistan's condition with or without outsiders taking an interest is but slightly removed from anarchy anyway, I'd hardly call their condition deteriorated from when the Taliban were fucking the place up -- and, I think, allowing opium/heroin trafficking. Afghanis are always going to be ornery; their geography very much encourages that, along with their linguistic situation, et cetera at some length.
The reason I'm untroubled is that shifts from an old order to a new one are always at least somewhat iffy, and the blasts of car bombs remain largely in one part of the country, and not the other two ethnic areas. They've been killing people for two and a half years now, and are they any closer to carrying the day with Iraqis? No. The Iraqi population is hitching its wagon to a different horse, that of representative democracy. The insurgents have absolutely nothing to offer but banditry now, and a future prospect of banditry institutionalized should, Allah forfend, they ever get back in power by ANY means.
Getting OBL is not the same as getting Al-Qaeda, which is what really has to happen to win. Al-Qaeda has to be deprived of the "sea of the people" that the guerrillas swim in. Capturing OBL would be more of a cherry on top rather than something essential to mopping AQ up, and would happen after AQ gets repudiated by their fans in Waziristan and the tribal territories in northwestern Pakistan.
Such WMD as survive are probably in Syria, whose Ba'athist government is keeping its head well down, doubtless grateful that Iran's nuclear endeavors are getting all the attention. There does seem to be evidence that WMD went to Syria -- you'll recall the aborted twinned-agent Sarin attack attempted on Amman, Jordan. The Jordanians got these guys, who had trucked about twenty tons of the stuff out of Syria. I've never heard that Syria was a twinned-agent Sarin producer. Even had the attack succeeded, what benefit could the fanatics have realized? I think it would be thoroughly negative, as the entire Islamic world would have been appalled at such an internecine attack. Our self-made, self-declared enemies (and they are your enemies too, if you're really any description of Jew) are a real bouquet of assholes. I don't see any validity in opposing efforts to wipe 'em slick.
The Taliban actually destroyed a vast majority of Opium poppy crops. It's only since the 'invasion' that things have 'gotten back to normal' over there as far as poppy seeds go.
Is this good or bad? Much of Afghanistans economy is fueled by opium exports derived from either legal or non-legal sources/purposes. (undoubtedly, most people here realize Morphine and all it's derivitives are a product of opium)
To the poor farmer trying to make a buck, I'll bet he's happy the US came and got rid of the Taliban. To the parent who's child dies of a heroin overdose...I'm not so sure.

Well, V, your long and allegedly rebutting post gave me my first big LOL for today -- though more on account of you being ridiculous than you being fun. Really, V, all things being equal -- I'd really rather you weren't being ridiculous, okay? We are not wholly without sympathy for each other, but come on.
I see dov collapsed once I turned my attention to him -- and worse than Happy Monkey. The Left people just don't have the strength -- they wimp right out, and loudly abandon the field, claiming unfairness. Comes of bad ideas, boo raucous hoo. Me, I never abandon the field, because my opposition's unfairnesses are things to attack, attack, attack, attack, attack. You don't want to get overwhelmed, don't write fatuity -- not when good sense is so much better.
Winners look like me; losers look like dov. Take a lesson.
I see dov collapsed once I turned my attention to him
You bore me. If or when you have anything remotely interesting to say, I may consider responding. No guarantees, but that is academic. I do not expect any pearls of wisdom emitting from you.
Me, I never abandon the field,
Unfortunately, it's not a battlefield, it's a hay field, and you only attack straw men. And when somebody turns out not to actually be the straw man you're attacking, you claim victory. But it seems to make you happy.

HoF material? Sharp, succinct, on target. I have difficulty with this one because the majority of posts by each of them are irritatingly ludicrous and combative. And then once in a while, they say something plainly, and it stands out in stark contrast.
Is the post worthy by the cellar's standards? Or is it just a personal record for dov?
I think it's only working for you because of pre-existing animosity towards UG.
Viewed in isolation, dov is still an ass.

I never made any claims that I was rebutting anything you said. You're just making that up. Go back and check (or not), you'll see I offered a translation of your remarks to a newish member.
Ridiculous? Coming from you I consider that an expert opinion. But your preferences regarding my behavior or tone of voice are a matter of monumental indifference to me. You're right. We have very occasionally supported the same side of a discussion. The trend I have noticed is in all those cases, your tone of voice is much more civil. In fact, when you are not civil, I am strongly inclined to oppose you based on your attitude. I would find that kind of dialog (diatribe) obnoxious and unworthy of my serious attention, regardless of the "side" you're on.
Notice the rest of your post. This is the BS I'm talking about. It's just talking trash, flaming. Whatever. When you abandon civility, you lose my interest and my support . When you adopt bigotry and prejudice, you orphan your readers. When you fling mud, all you get is dirty.

Attack attack attack==quack quack quack. dov's right--boring.
Winners look like me; losers look like dov. Take a lesson.
Lesson learned? You look like a jerk. Irrespective of who is proclaimed the winner or loser. Just a boring jerk.
Two thumbs down so far. I'm glad I asked. I appreciate your perspective. Thanks.
UG does not inspire the feelings of sheer headache-ary that the Canuck does. Just by pass them both, BigV. Life is too short!
maybe we need a 'HALL OF SHAME'........ just saying.

So is ug.

A thumb up here.

HoF works for those, too. Check it out. It's a place where the best can rest and it works for jerks.
This thread is intended to preserve those posts in one place, a Hall of Fame for posts so funny, insightful, or incendiary that they deserve to be remembered. Posts so passionate, so right, or so, so wrong that you want to hang it on the wall like a trophy.

Two days and I am the talk of the town.
Two days and my opening thread is 156.
Bac, my personal favourite, relative to lies and ignorance, will easily hit 100 plus.
Vets is closest to my heart, to me they are a tragedy and I feel for them, it is beyond posting. Vets should be the number one American issue, (it won’t be), in terms of impact, more so than the eight trillion, Abu Ghraib, social security, and OBL, etc.
Someone dear to me figured out why AQ have not attacked yet,
(they will.)
AQ is waiting for about 700k psychotic vets to return and do AQ’S job for them.
I inquired when I first arrived if I needed to stick to Pollyanna. You said no, go for it. I am going for it.
Silly to judge me so quickly, I am going through growing pains, new sight. I am human and have insecurities. It has been my nature to push buttons when I am in a new environment, sit back and watch the reactions. I would not call this a positive character trait, good or bad it works for me. If anyone is thin skinned and have allowed my manipulation to harm you, I am sorry. Personally, I could never understand it, being emotional over some black squiggly lines on a white background.
There are some here I like and respect and I believe I will continue to.
There are some who are shit, always been shit and always will be shit.
I am enjoying myself here, a good format and an eclectic group of posters.
Thank you
man. i wish i had the time i used to. lots of shit to stir here.
back to work
Dov....we are greeting your new government in what is becoming a US tradition with our allies:
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. troops in Iraq fired warning shots at the Canadian envoy's car on Tuesday after it failed to slow down while approaching an American military convoy, the U.S. military said on Wednesday.
But a Canadian diplomatic spokeswoman had a different account. She said there was "to say the least reasonable" space between the vehicles and there were no warning shots or signals before three bullets hit the car.....
US Troops Fire on Canadian Envoy
Dov....we are greeting your new government in what is becoming a US tradition with our allies:
dux, wasn’t warning shots. They were shooting to kill. (and they were such shitty shooters they missed)
dux, you are one of the more aware, politically wise, international, domestic, that I have the pleasure of knowing.
I would be willing to bet, (sorry I never, ever, gamble, it is a figure of speech), I am pretty sure you are not aware to the extent that, I would say humble, Canadian soldiers are presently doing in Afghanistan. (No green zone for them, not that the green zone is safe as we all know. 1001 ways to fuck up an invasion.)
Dux, already over forty percent of those young men (my sons are 21 years old, I identify) have PTSD. They are very sick human beings and will be for the remainder of their lives, which may not be a long life. Almost 100 have killed themselves there, and that is the figure that squeezed its way into the sunlight.
Depleted Uranium? Another day, when she joins us.
Most of those boys are a might jumpy. Car? Moving? Shoot?
If it was the same professional hit squad that assassinated Italian intelligence agent Nicola Calipari and wounded Italian journalist Giuliana Sgrena, (they were not after Sgrena, she would be dead if they were, they killed the bigger fish, Calipari.)
Same squad? A Canadian would not be left alive in that car if it were their mission.
Armatures shot the car and windshield.
Not. Dov's a wimp. His claims of superior intelligence and wisdom don't convince.
His claims of superior intelligence and wisdom
Fabrication, some people call it lying or slander. I call it stupidity.
Show me my claim.
spin spin spinnnnnnnnn, enjoy.

Dux, its becoming a habit.
WASHINGTON (CP) - The U.S. State Department is calling it regrettable that a vehicle carrying four Canadian diplomats in Baghdad came under friendly fire from U.S. soldiers. The incident, which happened Tuesday in a heavily guarded area of the city known as the Green Zone, is under review by the U.S. military, a department spokesman says.
We feel so much more secure now that the U.S. State Department is calling it regrettable.
Could have been worse. Oops, it was worse.
Dux, I am sure you remember when the Americans dropped bombs on our Canadian troops.
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A U.S. fighter pilot involved in a "friendly fire" incident that killed four Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan dropped a laser-guided bomb after his commanders denied permission to do so, U.S. officials said Thursday.
Another eight Canadians were wounded in the incident early Thursday near Kandahar when the U.S. jet dropped a 500-pound bomb on them during a training mission, U.S. and Canadian military officials said.

Later I will check out how many Brits were murdered, ummm. PC, I mean were killed by friendly fire.
Dammit, I will have to incorporate reporters murdered, ooops, killed by friendly American fire in Iraq along with the Brit stats. I bet reporters win. Nam has to be in the post somewhere, I am sure, probably reporters killed in Nam verses reporters killed in Iraq, correlating Nan was much longer.
later.
Iraq is the world’s most dangerous place for journalists.
79 journalists have been killed since March 2003 while doing their job.
Two other journalists are still missing :
The Iraq conflict is the deadliest inter-state war for journalists since the one in Vietnam, when 63 were killed, but over a period of 20 years (1955-75).
journalists
Very meaty stuff.
