Are you a thread killer?

lumberjim • Jan 23, 2006 12:07 am
wondering who here sees themselves as a thread killer.

does it seem that everytime you post to a thread, it just kind of stops?

does it seem that people don't respond to what you say?

Do you think people skip over your posts?
Sun_Sparkz • Jan 23, 2006 1:14 am
Yes. I have a barrier here of age, culture, location, how much time i can and often views. I have 100's of posts but dont think i would be half as read as someone with maybe 200 or 300 posts, but i dont care - i like it here.

I wouldnt consider myself a thread killer, but i wouldnt say that my threads or comments are anything huge ... YET!! Mwahahaha
Sun_Sparkz • Jan 23, 2006 5:32 am
i killed it!
Undertoad • Jan 23, 2006 9:22 am
Now that we've located the thread killer, can we hire you to post in Word Association? :p
SteveDallas • Jan 23, 2006 10:13 am
A quick search shows that I've started 172 threads, and 22, or 12.8% of them, received 0 or 1 replies.

Out of the last 500 threads that I've posted to, 35 or 7% are ones where I made the last post.

Conclusion: I don't kill a lot of threads, but I can do it when I feel like it. :rattat:

I shot the sheriff, but I did not kill the deputy.
I touch them, they die.

I'm the Grim Reaper of Threads. Most of what I say either dies on the vine, or sends people screaming. Not all, but most. I think I'm guilty of blathering.
chimmichunga • Jan 23, 2006 3:11 pm
Thread killer extrordinaire. I hope you all said what you needed to say, cause after this no one will see it.

I prefer to maim them so they can't run away. Then I toy with them a while until I get overexcited and accidentally bite their heads too hard.

Sometimes at 3AM the Word Association thread is the only one that's getting business ...
marichiko • Jan 24, 2006 10:04 pm
Well, of the 25 most recent threads I've posted to, I didn't start any of them and in two, mine has been the last post. Going by that sample, I am obviously dangerous to the health of a thread. 8% of all threads infected by me sicken and die. I imagine no one will post to this one ever again. Ever. :dead3:

I know you have like a 2 hour commute to that job of yours LJ, but isn't 3AM a little early to be starting the day?

Or were you getting up in the night for a pee and a drink of water, and just thought you would check to see if Wolf is pulling a graveyard shift?

that is actually a pretty large slice, considering the age of the thread, and your tenure here.

it's a guilty pleasure at best

Thread Killer?

Remember threads have feelings too. They feel pain.

It's hard, being a pie. Typing is quite a challange, f'rinstance.
Undertoad • Jan 25, 2006 6:19 pm
See, I read that, but I don't know what to say in return. Maybe some of the perceived thread-killing is just making a definitive statement that doesn't require any response!
lumberjim • Jan 25, 2006 6:27 pm
yeah, if you don;t give them anything to argue about......or piss them off ......

i'm not a thread killer, btw......coincedence?
marichiko • Jan 25, 2006 6:48 pm
No, Lj, its more because you haven't been posting so often as of late. However, if you go back in time, a search reveals that you "killed" 6 out of 50 threads when you were a regular poster here. That gives you a an "LD50" of 12% back when you were in your cellar prime.

By the way, the word association thread accounts for only .03% of my posts. Do I win anything? Have I killed this thread yet? :p
lumberjim • Jan 25, 2006 6:56 pm
no, but you should eat a dick anyway.
capnhowdy • Jan 25, 2006 6:59 pm
I thought that was "cock".
lumberjim • Jan 25, 2006 7:04 pm
no......cock would be literal. 'eat a dick' is more of a non associative insult. like 'go fuck yourself.' you don't really picture someone fucking themself.

I like to start threads about...

There;s a difference between killing a thread and making a post so inclusive and profound it is simply the last word on the subject and any further posts would be drivel. :right:

Oh woody woody woody. You don't know from thread killing! I am the freaking thread killer extraordinaire. I am the grand poobah of thread killing. When a thread sees me coming, it automatically rolls over and dies on the spot. My threads killed Chuck Norris.
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 26, 2007 11:15 am
It only seems that way because you give the ultimate answer to every question, solve every problem and then there's no reason to pursue it further.:D
Shawnee123 • Jan 26, 2007 11:18 am
Ahhh, that explains why I stay out of threads that require a modicum of intelligence and education. ;)
