My baby-girl!

York • Jan 10, 2006 4:49 am
Hello, its been a while....and it has a good reason! My gf gave birth on december 25th to a girl named Tess! A really special christmas gift!
I dont know if this is the right place to post the pics, but there is no real parenting yet, she just leads a great life right now, eating and sleeping! :p
Trilby • Jan 10, 2006 7:36 am
First of all, congratulations to the proud parents!!

Now--durn it, York, I can't see the pictures!!
richlevy • Jan 10, 2006 8:09 am
Congratulations.

I don't see any pictures either. Did you get the 100k limit when you tried to post? If so, you can use Irfanview to cut down your images. Just remember to rename the new images or set up a new directory.

Born on Christmas day? You're going to have to remember to get birthday gifts and holiday gifts. Mixing the two doesn't usually work out.;)

Is it girlfriend or fiancee?
York • Jan 10, 2006 9:42 am
Over here i still call it my girlfriend, but also my fiancee, my wife...we just love eachother, and there is no rush in marrying... technically we are nothing, practically we are it all!
Ill try post the pics again, they cant be too big, 2 of them wer taken with my cellphone! Oh yeah, she is 47cms ( dont know the inches ) and 5.2 pounds! ( 2.6kg)

You and yours are all most welcome!

One is glad to have been of service.

While we're on the topic of your ignorance of American chocolate idioms, I humbly suggest you replace the phrase mini-mint with Junior Mints. I'm just sayin'.

Oh, that poor kid.
wolf • Jan 17, 2006 1:58 am
There is a couple at work who met at the hospital, married, and both have the same birthday, so he cannot fall back on the typical man-excuse of "I forgot."

He can still screw up on the anniversary because they decided to choose a different date for that.

She is adorable.

Buy a shotgun.

Now.

(This is a common american joke. The shotgun is to be put away until she is old enough to discover boys. They boys are to be made aware of the shotgun, and of the father's potential wrath should his little girl be deflowered before an appropriate period of courtship, giving of a ring with a large diamond on it, and exchange of wedding bands)
York • Mar 2, 2006 2:55 am

The husband and I have been kicking around the idea of trying for #2 this spring, and seeing your *adorable* pics makes me want one for sure! We recently tested the water with the 3yr old, mentioning to her that someday she could be sharing mommy and daddy with a baby too. She seems excited, for now, and wants a sister. In fact, she's been bringing it up out of the blue quite a bit. Now, to convince the other half to let me go off the pill and actually start trying.... :stork:
York • Mar 28, 2006 2:00 am
Haha , being part of wanting a baby feels kinda weird!:p So you have a girl already? And she would like a sister? Let her talk to daddy, and he will give in! I love my baby-girl and hate to see her going to daycare starting tommorow...they grow up so fast...she's only 3 months but time is flying by!
My Gf never wanted kids before she met me...if it was up to me i would go for a brother in a year or two...but right now its not a good idea to talk about another baby! I will also wait till my girl is big enough to talk and if she wants a brother my Gf couldnt say no! Hahahahaha I guess we ll see what time brings!
LabRat • Mar 28, 2006 10:18 am
It was really tough sending Rugrat to daycare, but I did a lot of research. Including spending at LEAST an hour hanging out in the infant rooms of the couple of places I had narrowed it down to after visiting about 8 that made the initial cuts. Before she actually started in the one she is in now, I spent a couple of hours there for the Thurs and Fri before the Mon she actually started. They welcomed me and thought that it was a great idea. The first day, a few hours after I had been at work there was a telephione call for me. It was the daycare, just calling to let me know she was doing fine. !! Well over half of the staff that was there 3 years ago are still there, as well as most of the kids that she started with.

Our main concern in having another is/was the time crunch. As the first little one gets older and more independant, you find you gradully have more and more free time to yourself, time alone the 2 of you, as well as a lot more frequent full nights of sleep. (Oh Yeah!!) Up until recently I wasn't ready to give that up, but the scales have ever so slightly tipped in the "it's only for a short time, and totally worth it" direction, for me anyhow.
glatt • Mar 28, 2006 10:41 am
It's great that you spent so much time checking out each place. Not only does it help you get a feel for the place, but it lets the staff there get to know you too. It can only make things better when everyone is more familiar with each other.
York • Mar 28, 2006 11:34 am
Yep , its real good that u did that! U will always know she's in good hands if u convinced yourself! I guess its something every parent should do or at least try to...Daycare is important for the rest of their development! In my case, the daycare is in the same building as where my Gf s mom is living! They know eachother for a long time now...She's great with kids, over here its very hard to find one...there arent many and most of them are full! So we wer lucky to know someone... Its gonna be for 3 and 2 days a week, mondays my Gf is home, and thuesday she goes to grandma! Same thing the week after but one extra day to go to the other grandma ...;)
Our baby is sleeping thrue the night 9pm till 7 am for 2 weeks now...
Off course every kid is different so you ll never know how it 'll be next time!
But i know what u mean...i like kids enough to have more:D ...but its a bit early for a decision like that...and yes, its all worth it! ;)
If u and ur hubby are ok with it and you follow your heart....GO GO GO
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 28, 2006 7:20 pm

LabRat • Apr 3, 2006 12:25 pm
She gets cuter and cuter!! Can't wait to see her smile, the fact that she seems so serious in most of the shots is a riot!

I figured that visting often and for long periods not only gets/got me to know them, but them to know me as well. While I was there, they said you'd be suprised at how often they get little to NO contact with mom or baby before that first day. Crazy. I show up early without warning once in awhile, just to hang out with her a bit before going home, and of course check in. I have my husband drop in on occasion during the daytime when there is a teacher or room switch (since he is in the same town) just to check everything out. Though I have never had a reason to suspect anything, this is one area where safe is infinitely better than sorry.
York • Apr 11, 2006 6:34 am
Yep, ur right! Now i would like a baby boy as well but not to soon...

Belated congratulations.
My son was such a joy at that age... everything was so wonderful. I envy you during this time. Not that it does not continue to be grand. It is just "distilled" in a way during the first year.
That and I miss being able to play with him more and pick him up, but those are my issues.
Again, she is an angel! I love babies.

Hello again! Spring is in the air over here! Haha , the weather is great, me and my gf are great and my baby is doing really great!
She has 4 teeth now ( it aint much yet at 14months , so its kinda hurting! ) and the rest is coming! She can take small steps now but only when having some support! She's also mumbling all the time, like she can already talk but nobody understands! :D Some of the things she tries to say are : ti ta (tik tak , a dvd ) , kijk (look) , hebbe ( wanna have..) .... I was just thinking about this thread, and how great it is, York; how beautiful it is to see your young'un develop along in the photos. From just a fresh-out, to gaining priceless expressions, and now to moving about.

There's something about seeing the photos over real time. A lot of people keep picture albums, and it can sometimes be boring looking through them all at once, but it's so great to see these as time goes by.

Thanks once again for sharing it all!
York • May 27, 2007 5:36 am

btw, I think the goat looks more like a cow.
York • May 28, 2007 3:47 am
I know Bruce, thats what ive been telling my Gf ... but i gotta say she's right.... its a goat... Unless the Cow is wearing a disguise? The beard and a wig? :D
xoxoxoBruce • May 28, 2007 3:15 pm
You don't live near a Nuke plant do you? They cause cows to disguise themselves as goats for the sex life.
Sundae • May 28, 2007 5:29 pm
That's a cow!
It has completely the wrong eyes for a goat. The threads are obviously an attempt at the tuft of hair on a cow's head and... I dunno - a tongue?

Ask Griff. Or NoBoxes.
Cow.

All that aside - gorgeous girl, well done you & the missus.
xoxoxoBruce • May 29, 2007 4:38 pm
I know cows. Some of my best friends are cows. Of course I don't want 'em living in my neighborhood, but I've got nothing against them. They should just stick to there own kind, where they'd be happier.

Besides, I owned/showed the Grand Champion Brown Swiss at the Eastern States Exposition, in 1958.

Ok, it was only the 4-H division, against about 125 competitors, but she got 4th in the open division against all the big farms.

The car is the one from a tv-show and movie called "Brum" .
I think its English... There was a new toyshop opening here last week and my mom went to check it... Im gonna send my cow over there, so ill tell the car to follow....:D

This last one is the first to show big beautiful dark brown eyes. You got a beaut coming along there sir! Thanks York!
York • Oct 18, 2007 7:25 am
Thanks LabRat, she really is showing her own will now.
When we grab a toy she says " mine , mine " She starts to get conscious about the person that she is... She can really conversate now. The words arent all perfect but she learns them so quickly!
Thanks to you Undertoad! I never could imagine the beauty if u know what i look like! hahaha
LabRat • Oct 18, 2007 10:02 am
Beware, the cuter they are, the harder it is to say NO to them, especially when they need it...:)

I loved finally getting glimpses into my daughter's brain once she started talking. My favorite thing to do is sit just out of sight, and listen to her play by herself. More than once I've been caught because I couldn't stifle my laughter enough...

She had her first haircut and i didnt like it! :p Yep , it looked cuter with the curls , but it had to happen mama explained me.
It should get thicker and more off when they start going to a "salon"... Or is it just another excuse to go out? Now ive gotten used to it... Like everything that changes...i have to adjust myself!

Note : i had a problem at work , pics may not be great... Ill change them later!

I'm intrigued by the boards on the sides of that slide. One side looks like typical wide board beveled siding, but the back sides look like they were made to be seen, as in no interior wall or insulation. Very unusual.
York • May 2, 2008 4:38 am
I followed the book , its a kind of board u click together and forms an egal outside! U can put it against some other or just leave it like it is... But u can see the small board i attached to it... To be sure they stick together! ;)

Btw tnx for the support... Been in the hospital one day to have it crushed! It was 6mm diam. and they blasted it 8000 times the Doc said. I dont rememer much more than the sound of something loud like a gun! Makes me think about Space invaders! :D
My niece who was supposed to stay at my moms , stayed here for 3 days... She's 10 and was perfect entertainment for Tess who also was... sick! But the precense of her made up for the pain she had.

Undertoad, its a bit of a long story. I always wanted kids but when i started seeing my GF i knew she didnt want any. I was sure it wouldnt last if she didnt change her mind. But she did because she loves me and knows im a fan of all kids! ;) A second one, no thats not gonna happen but we' r both very happy with our girl. My GF is so happy she agreed with me.... :D
Sundae • Jan 4, 2009 5:42 am
We went to the Winter WOnderland in one of our closest cities (Milton Keynes) a rew weeks before Christmas. It was in the large exhibition space at the end of the shopping centre, so we didn't need kids to get in :)

I don't want children myself, but if I could have conjured up a 3-7 year old just for an hour I would have done. The carousel, the helter skelter, Santa's train... all wonderful. And the shining eyes, and the Dads running to get into position to take photos from the best angle. My parents had to drag me away.

Your daughter looks perfectly sanguine on the ride. I hope she will give her Daddy the pleasure of hearing her scream on a rollercoaster one day!
York • Jan 5, 2009 6:41 am
I hope so too! It means a lot of fun for me too! :D

Queen for a day?
Nope, Queen forever.;)
York • Jan 9, 2009 2:41 pm
Yep, it just made her extra aware.... :D
Winter has arrived! It was -20° Celsius over here.... Bbrrrr...
Its about - 13° now so its getting hotter but not enough to melt the snow from monday.... Kinda good, now at 3 years old she really knows what snow is! :p
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 10, 2009 2:56 am
Did you make snow angels or a snowman?
York • Jan 13, 2009 7:31 am
Nope, nothing at all! We've tried to make some but the snow just fel apart. It was not sticky so hardly possible to make something out of it. The fact that i could write my name in snow was funny enough for her! :D
classicman • Jan 13, 2009 10:01 am
Ahem, York - I think Bruce was referring to something like this.

xoxoxoBruce • Jan 19, 2009 11:53 pm
Yes York, you can do snow angels when there isn't enough, or the right kind of, snow to do anything else.
Hope you had a good birthday. :thumb:

Question #1 When did you get married??? Belated congrats!!

Question #2 Carnival for what? The only holiday around here that we dress up for is Halloween. . .
York • Mar 5, 2009 2:35 am
LabRat, i didnt actually got married. I guess its a habit. We feel like man and wife for some time now, and maybe will get married some day. But its all in our mind.... i dont need it to be confirmed on a paper or by a ring... Thanks anyway! :D
Over here we have Carnaval at the end of february and Halloween on Octobre 31th.
Carnaval is something catholic, some kind of "eating and party period "before the 40 days of fasting (?).... But everybody gets along, also the no-catholics... Like everyone partying and dressing up on Halloween...
Info : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival
And after party en play... they fall asleep :)
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 5, 2009 9:16 am

She's a real girl and starts to talk a lot more! :headshake :D

Getting her picture taken seems to make her very happy, is it when anyone takes it, or only Mom and Dad?
York • Apr 9, 2009 2:33 am
I guess its only when mom or dad make it.... And when she's in a good mood. :D There are times that she looks so cute but wont let me take a picture at all! When it comes to people she doesnt really know, it takes about 30min to get her to look at them! ;)

A new update:
0n the 20th may Tess went into the hospital for small surgery.
How do u call it, tonsils and pollyps ?? removal... And a lot of panic when she woke up. It was a hard week with a lot of crying and not much of sleep. But now, she's a new child. She can breath freely, doesnt snore and eats better and better.... And mom and dad are happy again!

Just for fun, I went back to look at the first pics in the thread. It starts at post #92... sadly the first lot of pics was hosted elsewhere and do not appear, but once they're attached images here, they show. In the first few pages she has her first birthday party. It's amazing to see then versus now. Human beings are fascinating creatures...

She only gets more beautiful, York, and I'm afraid you are going to have to set up contacts with modeling agencies soon, so that you can manage her career without her getting taken advantage of.

I ve seen a documentary yesterday about parents taking their kids to modeling shows and stuff.... I was shocked! Off course when somebody would like her to do a "shoot" later, thats fine! But she gotta do what she likes ....
Yesterday i bought her a trampoline! She was wining for it...the whole week so i gave in (again) ....

Expensive doh , 28€ a day/ 3days... So i just went to the drinkstands and had my fun there with the bands playing in the background. Today - sunday- was kinda family-day and i went with Tess and Melissa!
York • Aug 5, 2009 12:31 pm
Bruce, u got my PM ?
Today we went to another (smaller) zoo , closer by! But it cerainly was as good as the last one! Not many people there so we could see it al!
First one is Daddy and his girl!
The rest are Lions, white one, a white wolf, a bear....
York • Aug 5, 2009 12:35 pm
Tess isnt really on the pictures there, that would be a bit too dangerous! :p
Next up: White Tiger, some cubs , a lynx and a ostrich.

Back from our Belgian coast! Our holiday is ending! :thepain:
But, we had a good time! Typical on our coast is the weather. One day bloody hot, the next cold and rain! So we had some days on the beach and other days indoor-events... We went to Plopsaland.
I guess its not really known over there , so to give you an idea :
http://www.plopsa.be/plopsalanddepanne/en?lang=en-GB
Mom , Dad, Tess and her niece Demi went and had some fun!
York • Aug 15, 2009 7:18 am

Sundae • Aug 15, 2009 9:19 am
Funny you've been to the Belgian coast (not funny for you of course) Just today I've been checking the special offers at Belgo - Belgian restaurant - for when we go to London next month. Mussels and frites and beer... Yumyum.

I keep waiting for your daughter's hair to darken!
Surely she can't stay baby blonde with those killer dark eyes?!
What a combination while it lasts though.

And I love that we're seeing her grow up.
Now Ibby's a proper man, she's our only baby :(
Wonder if she'll ever come here & join us....?!
York • Aug 15, 2009 11:07 am
Im not real dark, my Gf is much darker but has lighter eyes!
I was a lighthead when i was her age... (looks kinda red doh... )
:D :D But it ll change for sure! She will always be beautiful to me even with hair thats green! ;)
Sundae • Aug 15, 2009 11:23 am
She is beautiful.
Not surprising given such a cute Dad! Then and now ;)

I was a baby-blonde baby, then a copper-headed pre-schooler.
Then mousey brown :(

But I discovered hair-dye at the age of 11 (!)

She'll always have her killer eyes though.
xoxoxoBruce • Aug 15, 2009 2:27 pm
Well, did you ride Anubis?
York • Aug 16, 2009 2:47 am
I did and i felt really bad when i got out! Like my stomach was still at the start and the rest at the finish! Its weird actually , waiting for an hour to get on something that lasts for a coupple seconds.....
But it was fun! ;)
xoxoxoBruce • Aug 16, 2009 4:07 am
Ha ha ha. A friend of mine said he waited in line for almost 2 hours for Space Mountain at Disney World. By the time he listened to the recorded message not to take the ride if you have a heart condition, every 10 minutes, for the whole time in line, he thought he might develop one. :D
York • Aug 16, 2009 5:54 am
haha, i think i know what you mean! Everything was so crowded... About an hour waiting on all the rides! Most of the things suitable for infants wer less long... So her niece and i went on some of the others, separate or together and Mom and Tess did some of the others. Two hours before leaving we did the things we could do together! :) Btw , an hour is very long over here! The people who work in the park also said they havent had that many for a while....
But it was fun! :D
xoxoxoBruce • Aug 17, 2009 1:16 am
You're not fooling me, you picked the most crowded day of the year so there would be more people to show off your princess to. :lol2:
York • Aug 17, 2009 2:08 pm
Hèhè, could be! :p But i guess there wer a lot a princes and princesses... But for me she stands out in a crowd! ( Is that correct?) Especially with her MegaMindy Cap!

York • Dec 20, 2009 12:35 pm
Both correct i guess! My wife/GF :D says al the time that she has my eyes, but i dont see that.... :D
Sundae • Dec 20, 2009 2:01 pm
One of the things I love about this thread - excepting you and Tess who are the real draw of course - is that a close friend of mine has a daughter Tess's age. I can chart her growth through this thread!

Saw her last Christmas and hope to this one as well. Her birthday is in January, so they are only a month apart.

My friend mourns the passing of his baby, but is of course captivated by the arrival of a little girl. As I'm sure he'll mourn the loss of his little girl, but welcome the young lady.
York • Dec 20, 2009 2:31 pm
I think i know what you mean.... Only one year to go and she will be going to "the big" school! And she can talk like her mom.... ;)
York • Dec 26, 2009 2:57 am
Yesterday was party-time for her! She celebrated her 4th birthday already!!   I'm getting old! :D

Sundae • May 10, 2010 3:07 pm
Wow! Lucky girl!
I hope that what you wrote about "one less Mother celebrating" isn't in reference to your own Mother? My sympathy if that is the case.

Your daughter gets more gorgeous every year.
xoxoxoBruce • May 11, 2010 7:17 pm
York, you should tell Grandad, what she really wanted was a sports car. :haha:
classicman • May 12, 2010 8:26 am
A yellow one like the one in the background? :p
xoxoxoBruce • May 12, 2010 9:04 am
That'a not a sports car, that's a toy.
York • May 14, 2010 1:13 pm
Sundae, i was referring to her.... She went totally nuts and uses the kids in a not correct matter.... She didnt die or anything , but its almost like she doesnt exist anymore, and ive never felt better! :)

Bruce, haha i think that just wouldnt work , exept maybe if they have a sportscar-day at school! :D

xoxoxoBruce • Jul 7, 2010 1:07 pm
Wow, look at all the hair you still had. :lol2:
Sundae • Jul 7, 2010 2:10 pm
Chickenpox I think, York.
Smallpox is pretty much eradicated in Europe.

Horrible for her, but probably best to get it out of the way so young.

She's lucky to have Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma.
My neice is 15 now and still has Great Grandad (not sure on the other side, I don't think so though). I think it's lovely that children get to interact with the older generation more now that people are living longer.

Then again, in the past families all lived together, so the time they had was more intense.
Sorry - just musing.

Tess is so gorgeous. I love seeing her grow up. And reading about your lives on the Continent - so near and yet so different.

So is she in school? Part time? Full time?
Here she would be starting in Year 1 in September, having had an (optional) couple of months in Reception, following her birthday.
Clodfobble • Jul 7, 2010 5:44 pm
What I love is how you can recognize her features even in that first baby picture. There's no doubt that's baby Tess!
Shawnee123 • Jul 7, 2010 6:37 pm
She's getting so grown-up looking. Shades of the beautiful young lady she will be. :)
York • Jul 8, 2010 4:31 am
Haha @Bruce..... "All the hair" seems reaaaaally long ago! Before i was thinking about kids.....! :D
@Sundae Girl : She's a lot better now, just a minor spots still gotta burst! ;) yep , she's lucky to have them! My mother doesnt ask about her, in fact i havent heard from her for months now!
But i still think its so sad my dad isnt here anymore! :( I guess thats life, some people have much wurst things to deal with!
Nowadays people dont spend enough time with eachother... In general that is!
Yep, she is going to her third schoolyear already! Kindergarten that is!
She goes all day, everyday... ;)
She now wants me write her name in her fav color : TESS ( sitting on my lap )
@Clodfobble : yep thats cool! I will always notice when she gets swapped.... :p:
@Shawnee, yep...so right! I start seeing the feminin things she does.... haha i hope she doesnt grow too fast!
York • Jul 25, 2010 3:30 am
hello Again! Today is the last day of my vacation! I was home 3 weeks but the first week was waisted because of the chickenpox. She still got some on her feet.... :( But we tried to make the best of it. We went to Zeeland, in Holland. A real kids vacation! ;-)
Monday we wet to the zoo and thursday to " De efteling" in Holland.
A very nice theme-parc for kids and grown-ups!

xoxoxoBruce • Jul 25, 2010 11:33 am

Goodness that child is photogenic! I love the pic of her and daddy. :)

@Bruce, euh....kinda! I was never there when i was a child and was waiting for this moment! :p:
Pico and ME • Jul 25, 2010 1:59 pm
Wow, that little girl has some legs on her! I predict either soccer or track in her future.
Shawnee123 • Jul 25, 2010 9:18 pm
Track, basktetball, and/or volleyball.
Sundae • Jul 26, 2010 11:40 am
Track and football, thank you ;)
More lovely pics, York. Makes me realise how much I am missing in the growing up of my friend's daughter...
Shawnee123 • Jul 26, 2010 11:48 am
Nah, she'll be one of those tall long-legged volleball players who looks all sweet and beautiful then they go out and kick some ass. Or tennis, like Maria Sharapova.

V-ball players are often leggy. I thought soccer players were typically more low to the ground.
York • Jul 26, 2010 11:53 am
Maybe the picture has a strange angle on it.... Héhé, Basket or Volleybal , i dont think so! Im only 5"3 and mom is 5"4! :D
But she likes to play soccer and tennis!
Pico , one point! ;)
Sundae • Jul 26, 2010 11:57 am
Meh I just meant from a European POV.
Those are sports that really matter.
Although ice-sports might be appropriate to York....? It's more temperate here so I'm a bit ignorant about them.

But FTR, Peter Crouch (famous "soccer" player, believe me) is 6'7".
Which is why he has to go out with a model. Obviously.
Shawnee123 • Jul 26, 2010 12:43 pm
My five feet maybe 4 inches younger sis-in-law walked on court for a tryout at her Division 1 college volleyball team. She had thought she didn't want to play but went to a walk-on tryout anyway. Made the team hands down. (pun intended.) So size doesn't always matter. :)
York • Jul 26, 2010 3:44 pm
@SG : oooohh that way! :D Ice sports? hhhmmm , she might eat it all! :D
Peter Crouch is a good forward! Back at Tottenham Hotspur now doing his "robot"! Messi and Maradona arent that tall either and are "great" ;)
@ Shawnee : i know for a long (or was it short?) time that it doenst mater! :D Well see what she likes most and than she can choose! ;) Like most at that age she likes so much now, tennis, soccer, cycling , being a ballerina, a veterinarian , an actress, a princess..... ;)
Pooka • Jul 26, 2010 4:45 pm
Wow that place is soooo cool! And what a beautiful girl she is!!! Looks like you guys have lots of fun!
York • Jul 27, 2010 11:41 am
Yep, we try to have as much fun as we can! You'r only a child once (and in a rare occasion twice , like me at the parc! :D )
We definitly think about going again next year! :)

Hello Guys and girls! Whats up there on the other side of the world?
My "baby-girl" is getting big! She turned 5 yesterday and it was a lot of trouble to get everyone here! A lot of snow fell the last days so there's about 40cm here!
this was day one : Image
I got in the hospital because of my diabetes and i had a really busy last months! I didnt take any pictures anymore, up till yesterday.
So here are some late, but still best wishes for X-mas!!

What a lovely young lady! (and a very patient old moggie you have there)

I admire your daughter's taste in plates.
skysidhe • Dec 26, 2010 4:14 pm
nice!
York • Dec 27, 2010 6:23 am
Tnx Wolf! Kitty is popular here! ;) But whats a moggie?
Sundae • Dec 27, 2010 9:28 am
A moggie is a a cat - usually a non-breed cat (like saying mongrel for a dog) but sometimes just a familiar term.

Aw she is beautiful as ever.
I must ask my friend for more pics of his daughter - she will be as grown up as yours my now. Blimey.

Sorry to hear about your diabetes, hope all is now well. Scary.

And 40cm of snow!
WOW! We had a quarter of that and really suffered. I'm happy to say it's melting nicely, as I'm making my epic trip to Scotland the week after next.
York • Dec 28, 2010 3:31 am
Hey Sundae and tnx for the mog-info! :p:
All is much better now tnx! I have it for 25years now but i still get an occasionaly bad hypo! (low sugar!)
Over here the snow is all staying! :D Its been here for more than a week and we had 2 days with a +1° , the rest of the days it's frreeeezing!!
Tess is sick , she has a sour throat and fever! Hope she'll be fine by the end of the week! Luckely its during my week a holiday! :(
Have a great end of the old year and a wonderful beginning of the new one! Later! ;)
xoxoxoBruce • Dec 29, 2010 12:05 pm
Hi York, good to hear from you! your pictures are always a welcome respite from the every day grind.

Proud Papa has done everything he could to make his baby girl happy, right? Well don't forget the most important thing you can do is make sure you're around, so take care of yourself. ;)
York • Jan 2, 2011 7:08 am
Thanks Bruce! I will do that but, i got sick one day, was in the hospital one day and my boss told me to stay home and take care for two weeks! So ive been home with my girl for more than a week now! ;) Good huh? :D

She's the same age as my friend's daughter; a school year younger then the children I teach.

No doubt she is amazing and intelligent as she is.
But give her a year or two and she will still be Daddy's girl and yet off the chart on the amazing and intelligence scale.

I love that I get to watch this in other people's children.
Keep posting York.
And a YouTube clip of her speaking Belgian (Dutch?) wouldn't go amiss.
Lola Bunny • Jun 20, 2011 1:07 am

xoxoxoBruce • Jun 22, 2011 11:52 pm
Don't be, York and I have been going at this for a long time, so I kind of post in shorthand. He understands, but others may not get my sarcasm. :D

LOL @ Bruce - I was right there with ya.
Kinda reminded me when of when my kids were young. We had a toybox/chest so they could keep their toys clean and organized. Yeh, that worked for about a month. They couldn't have fit all that crap in 5 toyboxes!
York • Jul 24, 2011 4:19 am

I suspect when the naughty side shows, you're too damn busy to take any pictures.
York • Nov 13, 2011 2:39 am
I always am busy! I wonder sometimes how other people do that all... A day should have at least 36hrs ! :p:
Here is a halloween picture from last week :

Oh my gosh, she is so big!

I can see why you're busy. Miss you around here, though. Maybe after she's through university you'll be back?
York • Nov 15, 2011 3:59 am
Haha , ill try to come post some pics regularly... But we dont take that much anymore... She got a small , low quality cam where she takes pics with... awwweeee. poor thing.
Sundae • Nov 15, 2011 1:51 pm
When I fell face downwards on the gravel I got a piece embedded in my head.
I had to go to hospital to have it removed.
I still have a scar.

It's a rite of passage :)

I love the fact that she is the same age as Tiger.
I can totally imagine her in my class.
Well, she's a foreigner ;)
But my children are unlikely to grow up as fluent in another language as she will.
English at least if she takes after her Daddy.
infinite monkey • Nov 15, 2011 2:07 pm
Awwwww, poor kid.

I'm in awe of her, though. :)
York • Nov 15, 2011 2:30 pm
Its not so bad, if she doesnt see it, it doesnt hurt! Haha ;)
But she is kinda worried that it wont go away and you ll see it forever... I tried calming her by telling what i all went thrue and you dont see the scars anymore..but that didnt really help! haha She asked me if brains can break... ???? She didnt go on asking stuff but just looked at me...?? hahaha
Sundae, she just likes talking talking and talking... no matter wich language! ;)
BigV • Nov 16, 2011 2:07 pm
Aw, so sorry Baby York. Have your papa give it a kiss, it will go away, I promise.
York • Dec 3, 2011 5:59 am
Today Sinterklaas came by again! ( another year so fast..ppfff ) :yelsick: But Tess was long waiting for this....
I had about 2,5hrs work to put it together but the result was great!
xoxoxoBruce • Dec 4, 2011 2:41 am
Tell her if you hadn't broken your brain, she wouldn't exist. That'll keep her wondering for years. :lol2:
It's getting harder to find gifts bigger than she is, good job Dad.
York • Dec 4, 2011 3:37 am
Thanks Bruce! And yep it is!!! :D
classicman • Dec 4, 2011 12:47 pm
Dude - you rock. What a great gift!
Sharp lookin' girl too. She is really growing up so fast.
Take a look at this thread from the beginning for a lil trip down memory lane.
For example, post #5 Rocks!
infinite monkey • Dec 5, 2011 4:39 pm
Seriously, how great has it been watching her grow up?

She's wonderful! And what a dollhouse! Very nice, York. :)

I agree! I'd gone back to the start of this thread even before you mentioned it (great minds thinking alike? Or just fathers of daughters...). I especially liked seeing the comparison between these two pictures. The first one is like looking forward in time. Thanks York!!!

Dunno V, I've gone through it several times. I regret not having done this with my own kids. My ex took all the pics from when they were young. I got a few since, but still.
York • Dec 7, 2011 7:27 am
:DThanks all! My wife was just reading with me and i could see her being sooo proud! :p:
BigV, greatly noticed!
She loves the dollhouse and with grandma she got a Car for Barbie with cool Barbie , and a hairsalon with washable-hair Barbie... All nice, but the last one is too wet!!
My wife ordered a new bed on the net last week. Deliverance could take to 3 weeks... But they delivered it last wednesday. It was supposed to be a gift for my girls birthday the 25th but as it was standing in my way and she was wining meee...i put it together too.
She's on her way to grandpa now for another gift... But most of the times it aint toys there! :D Anyway, i think she's just a bit spoiled. ;)
She still has to go get her gift with her ...eeuh Godmother??? And thats gonna be toys again!! :p:
Wish i was a kid again! :D
xoxoxoBruce • Dec 7, 2011 10:37 pm
When you go toy shopping, buy one for her, and one for you. They don't have to be of equal value, just equal count. ;)
York • Dec 23, 2011 11:27 am

Happy belated B-day to a beautiful young lady.

That was great birthday cake! Glad you could eat it too. :D As far as Xmas gifts go, that sounds like my household. :p: Sorry, York, it's not normal to have that many gifts just because it's her birthday. It's because she's spoiled. And rightly so with a face like that. ;) My nephew is the only "baby" in our household so we spoil him too. However, he's such a great kid. Very understanding, caring, kind, and obedient. York, I'm sure your daughter is wonderful too. So, spoil her some more! :D
York • Dec 28, 2011 1:16 pm
I know its not normal , she already started to ask when the next "gift-period" is coming!! :D Spoiled a lot!!! But as you say, i get back a lot! Reading times, the " i love you " and " your the best dad"s ... Obedient? Sometimes hahaha but wonderful? Off course ! Like any kid is ( or should be ) :p: to the parents! :D
Bruce, yep it kinda is! :3_eyes:
York • Feb 9, 2012 1:26 pm
Well peeps, here i am again. Tess had a late Bday party and soon after a loose tooth! 2nd one loose too now, but she pulled out the first one! She said i had to share this because she wasnt scared at all! :D I guess thats because she knows the toothfairy brings her something! :D

Some snowfoto's ;) ! Minus 15 celsius bbrrr!!
BigV • Feb 9, 2012 6:17 pm
That's a big milestone, losing that first tooth. Please send my congratulations for her courage. Looks like you're enjoying your winter, have fun and keep sending these great pics!
ZenGum • Feb 9, 2012 7:57 pm
Holding the tooth in the bag reminds me of Bush (first) holding up that baggie of crack cocaine...
TheMercenary • Feb 9, 2012 8:17 pm
Did Clinton try to steal it away and snort it on camera?!?!??! Or did he rub it on his willie and make Monica numb?
xoxoxoBruce • Feb 10, 2012 1:05 am
Oh dear, that's going to cost you, York. I've been seeing all the pictures of the canals frozen, thanks for stealing our winter. You can have a few more too. :D
classicman • Feb 10, 2012 10:12 am
Guys - of all the threads ... :headshake

York, That girl is too adorable.
HungLikeJesus • Feb 10, 2012 12:16 pm
So young - and she's already falling apart.
BigV • Feb 10, 2012 2:57 pm
they don't build 'em like they used to.
Sundae • Feb 10, 2012 3:02 pm
Tiger hasn't lost any teeth yet.
I am braced (sorry) for the start.

If I'm lucky he'll shrug it off, like Mars (my older pupil)
But blood in the mouth can be distressing for any child, and Tiger has eating issues :(
York • Feb 11, 2012 6:37 am
Haha thanks guys, :D :D :D
Bruce, it aint us tring to steal that but Holland for their 11 city skating contest! ;) It just was too big for them alone!
Sundae, al her friends have tooth missing, she got used to it i guess! There was only the minimum of blood when she pulled it... She couldnt eat with it anymore because it was sooo loose... i guess when it anoys them so much they dont care about a bit a blood! ;)

ps Her grandma had a new British Shorthair Cat yesterday, so more pictures wil come very soon!
York • Feb 11, 2012 9:51 am
Here is the kitty, a picture with her and Tess wasnt possible! A lot a blur than! haha
Griff • Feb 11, 2012 9:56 am
That is one cute kitty! (The kid is pretty cute as well ;))
classicman • Feb 11, 2012 11:57 am
You already know I think your daughter is adorable, but that kitty ... OMG cuteness overload. I wanna squeeze her puffy lil cheeks
HungLikeJesus • Feb 11, 2012 12:48 pm
Of course.

How else can you tell if it's ripe?

They get blamed for everything, they're always in Dutch*.:haha:

*Old American expression meaning in trouble.
York • Feb 12, 2012 4:17 am
Jesus, haha! :D Going to try squeeze her again today!
Bruce, they always are indeed! ;)
York • Feb 12, 2012 11:32 am
She got a bit closer hèhè ;)
Sundae • Feb 12, 2012 11:39 am
Cute overload!!!
xoxoxoBruce • Feb 14, 2012 2:53 am
She is going to be pissed that kitty doesn't do what she wants, like Mom and Dad do. :haha:
York • Feb 18, 2012 3:29 am
Well she is, she thinks that a kitten is ok with everything...:D
My big Sirius is like that, she can do whatever she wants with him and if he doesnt like it, he goes sit somewhere upstairs!
But the two other cats never come near her. They know her from birth but still arent quite trusting her! :D
xoxoxoBruce • Feb 23, 2012 2:25 pm
Cats, being pure evil themselves, know they should be cautious of everything.
infinite monkey • Feb 23, 2012 2:53 pm
Oh I never saw the pictures of the kitten and your daughter with the kitten.

Two of the cutest things EVER! :)
York • Mar 5, 2012 2:23 pm
Haha tnx!
Here she is saying " Sayonara papa". She needed a photo with a sword for school she said... And it had to be with my samoerai-sword and not her Star Wars saber! :D
BigV • Mar 5, 2012 2:45 pm
THAT'S a knife!
ZenGum • Mar 5, 2012 7:53 pm

glatt • Mar 22, 2012 1:23 pm
A perfect springtime outfit.
York • Mar 31, 2012 9:45 am
Thanks! Today i went shopping with my mom... Off course she bought clothes for Tess... ;) And here she is showing them!
BigV • Mar 31, 2012 5:19 pm
We've know for a long time she just walks all over you York. Now we have the pictures to confirm it.

She's beautiful and you're happy and both are wonderful to see. :)
