Our Tribe vs the World WC 2006

World Cup Draws were this week. Ummm... we're screwed. The US drew The Chech Republic, Italy and Ghana. Folks are already talking about if we can come in second. While hope springs eternal, it is time to pick a back-up nation. I'm going with Costa Rica this time in honor of a great vacation and I've actually seen them play so that helps. Of course, they drew home team Germany in the opening game of the tournament.

I have a friend from Ghana. I'll take them. I hear their prospects are pretty good this year.

African soccer is definitely improving, though I have no idea about Ghana. I guess they have a similar style of play to Nigeria? I'm also betting your friend is a doctor. :) The WC should be a natural fit for the US, nation of immigrants and all that... except for the soccer bit I guess.

Pretty grim draw for you lot. UK draw isn't too bad, but we can't slack...
