Channel 4 Reality Show - To Infinity & Beyond

Channel 4 (UK) starts broadcasting a show in December where members of the public believe that they are being trained by the military in Russia and have a chance to be selected for a trip to Near Space. In fact they are being trained at a disused airfield in the UK and the space flight is a simulation.

Watercooler conversation here is that they must have picked some really stupid people. I thought there must be more to it & searched until I found this article in the Independent newspaper.

Personally I think I would be fooled - as much by the "why would they go to all this trouble for a hoax?" aspect as by my own suggestibility. I'm looking forward to watching it anyway.

It will probably all hinge on whether the people buy into the gravity explanation, which is pretty weak.

It will also hinge on how close they let them get to the "windows" to look at the view. I have a hard time believing that they won't be able to tell the difference between a computer screen image and real life. Even if they get dumb people who buy the gravity story, the eyes don't lie.

Agreed, when you look out a window if you move your head you get a slightly different view.

The show is called 'Space Cadets' and runs from the 7th-16th December.
I can hardly wait to see this. :) :)
