Another xoB Weather Underground find. Not much to say about it other than it's rare - lives in a park at Royal Gorge CO. Happy Friday.

The birth of the White Buffalo is a sacred event to Native Americans. It is a harbinger of change, justice, redemption. It is a fulfillment of prophecy. The animal itself is an icon, as much a source of hope and joy as is the Virgin Mary to Catholics.

That's one mighty important critter there, serving as a tourist attraction.

It's not just the birth of a White Buffalo Calf ... the one specified in the prophecy changes colors as it grows, representing all the colors of man, and of the medicine wheel ... white, yellow, red, black.

Miracle (the first white buffalo calf born in many generations) did this before he died, IIRC.

Mighty fine looking beastie. I like how his body is all bumpy and slope-y and fringed.

And hardly ever appears in plate glass windows, on fence posts or on concrete underpass walls. ;)
