This summer, I was fortunate enought to spend some time on Martha's Vineyard. It's gorgeous up there.

These first few pics were taken during sunrise on the summer solstice.

It's also one of the few places on the East Coast you can see the sun set over water.

There's also a lot of great stuff actually on the island.

Nice pictures. That looks like a huge lobster.

Gorgeous. I'm very jealous.

Wow - do you take photos professionally or just a talented amateur?

I like the lobster picture best, but I think that's my stomach voting......

Wow, superb pictures! That last stairs one I'm still trying to figure out. Could someone draw in a stick figure to show me which way is up? (or down?) I'm getting woozy...

Thanks for the compliments. :) The beauty of digital is that I can take as many pictures I want and pick only the best to show off. I take photos for fun, but I certainly wouldn't complain if someone wanted to pay me for it.

Sundae Girl - I'm afraid you'd go hungry. That lobster shell is completely hollowed out.

LabRat - In the stairs picture, the camera is pointed up. It's the inside of an old wooden lighthouse.

If any of you have the inclination to check them out, I have some more Martha's Vineyard pics here.

Ahhhh--I figured it was taken at the bottom of a stairwell, based on the very lower right corner, but the hole at the top left kept trying to be like in a wall, not a ceiling. It seriously was making me ill. Very cool. Thanks for the clarification :)

There are some really neat ones in your album too. Nice!

Stunning pics, tyro. My compliments.

What kind of camera are you using?

Good show, tyro. :thumb:

Makes me wonder who was tending the vinyard while she was in jail?

I use a Canon PowerShot S50. It's a 5MP point-and-shoot camera with a relatively high level of manual control.
