Jet Blue Pilot....

Okay you guys, There is a rumor going around here that the pilot who successfully landed a plane full of people at LAX when the landing gear malfunctioned is not a US citizen and is afraid of exposure from the media due to this fact. I am just curious if any of you have heard this. The media is again taking something good and desperately searching for a seamy underbelly. Personally I don't care what nationality he is. The fact remains the guy is a hero.

btw. this is at least the 10th time this has happened to an A320 aircraft and the second time for JetBlue. :(

It's still a great landing, by the standard of a good landing being one you can still use the pilot. Here, you can still use the pilot, and the airplane, and all the passengers too.

Shake the flight deck crew's hands and buy 'em a rootbeer. Unless they're not scheduled to fly tomorrow.

Are we perhaps looking at a significant design fault and an excellent reason to choose Boeing?

i would think that there are many pilots who are not citizens that fly for the airlines. all they have to do is get a work visa, maybe?
this is the first time i've seen this. wow. buy the guy a case of beer! i'll bet he wasn't going to have to fly for a couple of days after that!
