A computer programmer looking at Google Earth satellite images has reportedly discovered the remains of an ancient Roman villa near Sorbelo, Italy.

Hooray for slacking off! Don't call me out I'm home sick.

That article would be far more interesting if it had the coordinates of the find. I put "Sorbelo, Italy" into Google Earth, and it couldn't find it.

Anyone know Italian?

Here's another strange site in Ireland, from the website above.

*cough* Greater Ireland?

it's actually north east of Parma

attached is a google earth marker -- just remove the .zip from the file name and open the file in google earth.

well you can clearly see the river bend, but I don't see any old villa. Neat though.

yeah, you can't really see the villa itself. You can see a brown splotch in a field where the villa is.

It was only a matter of time til something like this happened. Great press for google earth!
