Wow. Your pix are more beautiful than mine. The sky is so blue, the river is so clear. Wish I visited it one day.
Trilby • Sep 5, 2005 8:33 am
Really beautiful! Thanks for sharing your pics! Loved them!
Elspode • Sep 5, 2005 12:28 pm
Billy, your pics are of equal beauty and interest. And now I have to go to Australia, too.
seakdivers • Sep 5, 2005 12:43 pm
Oh I love Australia!! We will be going back again hopefully this fall. We spend our time over on the Gold Coast at Surfers Paradise. My husband is a adjunct professor at Bond Uni.

I can't wait to get back!!!

the ones of the city i didnt take. but im glad you all like them anyway.

wilsons prom. is like a home away from home for me. im sure you can understand from the pictures.
and with melbourne, well...theres no place like home.

and with the beer in the boot (trunk) of my car there was 72 Litres (~18 gallons) which lasted a couple of hours at my 21st birthday last year. people also brought their own booze and there was wine and champaign too. i had a bottle of vodka. i didnt feel too good the next morning.
kelliekd • Sep 7, 2005 3:42 pm
I hope I have as good a 21st as you apparently did. :greenface Looks beautiful!!! Georgia is no compeition.
BigV • Sep 7, 2005 5:15 pm
21 is a future birthday number? You should check in over here. Anyway, welcome to the cellar kelliekd.
Hobbs • Sep 7, 2005 6:23 pm
Wow. Melbourne is beautiful. I was shocked to find that Melbourne is only 170 years old.

florence was my favourite
Every man has one he remembers most fondly. Quite often she was older, also. ;)

I'm sorry, I could never move to a country where the women use metric. It's pints, gallons, and hogsheads for me.
Kagen4o4 • Sep 8, 2005 2:04 am
well i could never move to a country that doesnt know what a dead horse on a snag is.
xoxoxoBruce • Sep 8, 2005 7:11 pm
A sausage with tomato sauce. ;)
capnhowdy • Sep 8, 2005 10:11 pm
...I knew that.
richlevy • Sep 8, 2005 11:22 pm
And I thought 'toad in a hole' was a disgusting name for a sausage dish.

How do I know you're not all talking about the same thing? :eyebrow:

In which case, Els and plt would be wrong. :vomit:

Those don't look like Foster's cans. Here in the U.S., advertising tells us that "Foster's is Australian for beer". Have we been, gasp, lied to?
wolf • Sep 9, 2005 1:59 pm
Fosters is the beer Australians want to get rid of.

Isn't that something, over here, their worst beer is one of our best?
Kagen4o4 • Sep 9, 2005 8:08 pm
actually, the weird thing about fosters is...it tastes like crap over here, but the stuff we export is actually one of our better beers (crown lager) just put in the fosters bottle because everyone knows that name overseas.

fanny=vagina
snag=sausage
dead horse=tomato sauce

never heard of toad in a hole.
xoxoxoBruce • Sep 9, 2005 8:25 pm
Here's an Aussie Quiz for you.

zippyt • Sep 10, 2005 1:04 am

wolf • Sep 10, 2005 2:52 am
17/20. Bring on the Big Barrel and some Vegemite, mate, while I find my Men at Work discs.

I make a point of drinking with the Aussies whenever I'm at my every-other-year conference.
Kagen4o4 • Sep 10, 2005 3:07 am

Ok, let me give you a quick Philly (Philadelphia) test?

1) How do you pronounce 'water'?
2) What is the only sanctioned, allowable cheese on a cheeseteak? Violators will be shot.
3) On what day of the year do straight men in South Philadelphia dress up as women? And why?
BrianR • Sep 10, 2005 2:03 pm
3/3

git-r-done!
seakdivers • Sep 10, 2005 2:08 pm
Hmm.......13 as well. I didn't hear most of those things while I was over there. I thought that "toey" refered to being horny.

Oh well.
superbaton • Sep 10, 2005 2:20 pm
14, the worst thing is that i lived in australia for several years. :bonk:
