Hurricane Katrina slamming New Orleans reminds me of that small Alaska town that was a town one minute and a bay the next minute. I saw a video on the History channel. A guy on a boat was looking through the lens at the town, the boat rocked and he was looking at sky, the camera came back down and there was just ocean where the town had been a second before. Does anyone know the name of that town?

Yep, it's Lituya Bay. The wave ended up going as high as 1720 feet, and it send water as far back as 3600 feet inland.

It's a couple hundred miles north of where I'm at, so you can imagine the tsunami alert system we have here!

Does anyone want to bet on whether 'Nawlins will survive? If it goes, I'll sorely miss it. I love 'Nawlins! :bawling:
