I had no idea birds stay in the nest for so long. Or how far from developed they are when they crack the shell. That's really neat.

Bruce shared them awhile back, but they are spectacular enough to warrant a second look. Thanks, Dar!

Guy at work said he has moth hummingbirds at his house, um maybe he was full of crap?. Anyway the hummingbirds in Costa Rica were pretty darn big, neat.

From eight feet, full (8x) telephoto, no flash, through three panes of unwashed glass.

Nothing but net.

Why do humming birds hum?

They don't know the words.

I like the way the bird is looking at the camera.

There are a few more in this thread: http://cellar.org/showthread.php?t=14725

Heheh...HLJ, that's the thread I was looking for. Don't know why it didn't turn up in the search results.
