I do.
My Dad used to send me to the store with a gallon gas can and a quarter. I came home with a gallon of gas for the lawn mower & 2 pieces of bubble gum.

I worked at old station as a kid. Notice the oil between the pumps. They became collectors items, and for cooking oil.

What! Allow a child to handle a dangerous thing like gasoline? It's a wonder you didn't burn your eye out.

"Momma always told me not to look into the eyes of the sun.....but Momma, that's where the fun is. (as told by Manfred Mann's Earth Band)
But we NEVER sniffed gas. Not that I recall. Not that I recall. Not that I recall.

My mom never liked self-serve gas stations. She always had me pump the gas. She also taught me how to start our old Ford LTD so I could get it running & let it warm up a few minutes before she was ready to leave on cold winter mornings.
