It's my favorite ponzi scheme. Now if I were to print my own money to pay into it that would be a crime.

My Social Security card has probably been in the same location with my draft card for many decades now. Other than the numbers, they both have about the same value and purpose.

That card is cute but wrong.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The "John (& Jane) Q Taxpayer"(s) out there have been questioning SS since long before I was born.

By signing this card, I acknowledge that I will pay into this program for 50 years and never see a cent of it when I retire.

Now that's not true either. Nobody has paid in for 50 years and not collected SS while still alive. There is a debate over how long that can continue but if the schmucks in Washington hadn't stolen the money, the question would be moot. :)
