Anti-Japanese protests in China

I saw the report on NYTimes. In fact, the activities have gone on over a month. China government limit the mainland media to report it. I will upload some pix.

Billy, what's the general feeling of chinese people toward their history with Japan? Do younger people generally feel less anger toward japan, or no?

Most people don't like Japan because the history problem and Japan government never admit that they invaded China & Asia. Now the most protests were done by the younger people.

Could you translate some of the signs for a us a bit?

it says
national motion--boycott the japaneses goods
Chinese public opinion--disagree japan become permanent member state
is that right?my english is not very....

You are right. it should be "national emotion".

Billy, what *is* the government's position on the issues at hand? Is there an effort to join with Japan in some sort of trade or other financial arrangement going on?

You said that the mainland media was being kept from full reporting, so I assume that this protest movement is not being seen as a good thing by the powers that be.

China government is trying to contact with Japan government. We hope Japan treat their hisotry as German do. I don't know if the Japan or China trade and financial organizations canvass for it.

I think the protest movement is not a bad thing. China government don't hope the protest movement do the extreme things that hurt the normal development between China and Japan.

I read a couple weeks ago the two largest Jap airlines were suffering over 1000 cancellations per day of tickets to China. I didn't realize the traffic was that great. I wonder what percentage are business men as opposed to tourists? :confused:
