Devo's "Uncontrollable Urge" is being used to advertise the Mitsubishi Galant.

if it was the lancer or the eclipse, this might be understandable

It's better than hearing Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" advertising hemorrhoid cream.

Surest sign was Joplin's "Mercedes Benz" being used to advertise, well, "Mercedes Benz".

Then again, the Musak versions of "King of Pain" and "Synchronicity 2" were actually pretty good tipoffs as well.

The beginning of the decline of western civilization was marked by the use of The Beatles "Revolution" to sell sneakers.

Doesn't Wacko Jacko still own those rights? He's having cash flow problems. I wouldn't be surprised to see more Beates music used that way.

I thought that was why Jacko bought the rights ... to prevent that kind of commercial use of The Beatles' music.

Of course, that could be inaccurate information, poorly recalled from that time in the mists of history. And it was about the same time that he was trying to buy the Elephant Man's remains, too.
