4/11/2005: Great white shark feeding

I've had this one for a while now, in the Friday queue - but there have always better Friday shots, and maybe it's better for a Monday anyway. Here at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, they feed a great white shark - and despite our popular notions of sharks being "eating machines", the official caption said this is the first documented instance of a great white feeding chow offered in a controlled environment.

I'd be more impressed if someone was breastfeeding him....

Are you certain they aren't trying that new dental plan for sharks? Looks like a nice flossing to me.. I hear Shamu loves it. :jig:

Thank you ever so much.

I am absolutely terrified of sharks and the ocean in general. BUT! I hate that I have that fear. We're planning a trip to South Africa 2/06 and I hope to do this.

I'm starting a little trend. I went skydiving to get over my hear of heights. Standing with your toes over the edge of a plane door at 12,000 feet will cure anyone. Now... what can I do about my fear of bugs?
LabRat • Apr 12, 2005 4:13 pm
I'm not afraid of skydiving, it's the sudden stop at the end that terrifies me...
