Maybe you're broke and can't afford even Ikea furniture. Maybe you just like a natural look and feel.

Then you should take your cue from this gent, a Mr Wu, from Shenyang City in China. He figured out that if you bend an elm tree while it's growing it will fix in that direction and continue to grow. So he kept bending until he had an entire chair.

That's patience.

Of course, these are folks that tend bonsai for 100 years and don't consider them done.

(Yes, I know the Japanese are better known for that, but the Chinese do it too, and their style is different ... little less formalized than Japanese)

So very cool. I dream of doing this. But I dream a lot of garden things. I saw a plan for a house stucture made of woven trees..."Pleaching" its called...

Way cool.....
It would be nice to just let them grow. Be outside chairs. Imagine what they'd be like in a few generations. Shame he cut it down.
It really is kinda like a super scale bonsai.
And yes this is the epitomy of patience....."Father teach".............

A procrastinators dream. :)

Pleaching is risky. Even a traditional tree house is at risk of catastrophic failure. Plus if you look at any tree, even dead ones, you'll see lots of living things......creepy crawly things.

After that long I think I'd want to sit down too.
