Cellar Pizza

It was a little slow at work tonight so I thought I'd make everybody here a pizza. Sausage and pepperoni anyone?
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 10, 2005 4:56 am
Ha, take that, vegans.

Yup, NY style. We also make a pretty mean pan style pizza. :yum:

Is it Mystic Pizza? I never saw the movie but driving through CT I noticed that there actually is a town called Mystic and that it has a pizza place.
Elspode • Jan 10, 2005 1:21 pm
Man, I have *got* to get a decent digicam. So many pizza opportunities, so little technology suitable for its capture.

Nice pie!

No, it's not Mystic Pizza. I work at a Sbarro Pizza just over the border in Mass. It's pretty good pizza, if you've never tried it I suggest you check out a location near you!

Reminds me that I've never shared this ...

I frequent (and when I say frequent, probably 3 or 4 times a week) a bar here in New York City called The Cellar (not to be confused with the Cellar Bar in the basement of the Bryant Park Hotel). It's a charming venue - nicer than a dive, but not anywhere near those pretentious Manhattan lounges and nightclubs. My first trip there I expected a crowd of East Village hipsters, but it takes on a preppier, martini-drinking audience. Unlike this Cellar, which does not have coffee nor a shop, The Cellar Cafe is open during the daytime hours and has fabulous donuts and expresso.

I am having my birthday party there this Friday and will be sure to get a photo of the place (likely accompanied by pictures of me vomiting on 14th St).

There's one Cellar in NYC that I will frequent:

The Comedy Cellar

Ya know, for being chain pizza, I really like Sbarro. I used to eat there frequently when my company was at its old location. There used to be one up the street from our current location, but it closed some time ago.

It was kind of slow for me at work tonight as well, so...

....they sent me home. Sigh.

Mystic is a great place to visit! The whaling museum has great exhibits of scrimshaw, ships in bottles and whaling tools plus the Charles W Morgan, the 1851 whaling ship that has the deck prismsthat I showed the repro of in DoDads. :D

The Boys' Cellar, often referred to by patrons as just "the Cellar," is a local gay bar.
Billy • Jan 12, 2005 7:15 pm
Sounds wonderful. Can I share it?
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 12, 2005 11:36 pm
Share the gay bar?
404Error • Jan 13, 2005 12:15 am
I think he wants a slice of my pie, Bruce.

Anytime Billy, I'll share it fairly!

I just remembered some fun I had with pizza, I guess it was a year and a half ago now...

We way overestimated the number of pizzas we needed to serve, and most of them got so dark the only option was to toss them. I figured it would probably be the only chance I'd ever get to build the leaning tower of pizza.

I think there were about 80 leftover. I didn't use them all. Getting that many to stand up was just about impossible, and that's with toothpicks holding it up.
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 17, 2005 9:23 pm
leaning tower of pizza.

You and your pie in the sky ideas. :D

That's one way to work your yourself into the upper crust.

Making dough rise the hard way.
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 19, 2005 7:12 pm

Roosta • Jan 19, 2005 7:52 pm
As for the Cellar pizza, can I have the 3 o'clock to 4 o'clock slice as it has loads of pepperoni?
Eric • Jan 19, 2005 10:03 pm
it looks like really delicate
footfootfoot • Jan 19, 2005 10:51 pm
Deck Prisms. Ouch. Whack your noggin on one of those and you don't forget it.
BigV • Jan 19, 2005 11:01 pm
Actually, whacking your head on one of these using the proper form, full speed ahead, not looking, and you may never remember...
404Error • Jan 20, 2005 1:26 am
Who was talking about deck prisms?
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 20, 2005 5:10 am

If I am going to visit a whaling museum it had better have a whale penis.

The one in New Bedford, MA has one. I'm visiting this Spring! :D
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 22, 2005 9:54 pm
Mystic does. Walking stick. ;)

Without my walking stick, I'd go insane
I can't look my best I feel undressed without my cane.
Must have my walking stick 'cause it may rain
When it pours can't be outdoors without my cane.

If I ever left my house without my walking stick
Well it would be something I could never explain
Oh the thing that makes me click, on lovers lane
Would go for naught if I were caught without my cane.

QUELLE DOMMAGE!!!
Slang, If you want I can send you the ingredients and a recipe, you can make your own. They've gotta have mozzarella in MN.

The nearest edible pizza is 45 minutes away. NYC is 4 hours. I mkae my own and it isn't bad. Fuck that, it's damn good.

Rock.
