Haagen-Dazs

I just ate Haagen-Dazs icecream twice because one friend treated me. Or I cannot afford it. I like it very much. I don't think it is the best icecream, but the marketing is very successful. The company makes the normal icecream into arts, sush as Swatch makes the watch into fashion.

They may not be the absolute best ice cream, but they're probably the best of the large volume companies and they're very, very good.

If you can get it, and you like coffee, their coffee mocha chip is wonderful. Unfortunately the only place it seems to be available nowadays is South Street Philadelphia, which is a long way from China. (The flavor is officially discontinued, which just shows that they don't know a good thing when it's right in front of them)

I like Breyers, but I'm not sure I've ever had Haagen-Dazs, so I can't compare them.

Breyers is better.

I think Ben & Jerry's rates right up there. :yum:

Breyer's used to be better, but when the got bought out by a foreign (possibly Japanese) company and moved out of Philadelphia, they reformulated a lot of their ice creams. They just taste plastick-y.

And I won't eat Ben and Jerry's because of the Mumia thing. It is damn good stuff, though, and I miss having a Cherries Garcia Peace Pop from time to time, but there are a lot of other companies out there making good ice cream.

Wawa just started selling Moose Tracks.

Oh yeah. Ice cream heaven, baby.

Sometimes I forget that Blue Bell is really only a Texas thing.

I had never even heard of any other ice cream brands except Haagen-Dazs until college. Dreyer's and Ben & Jerry's have finally gotten a foothold down here in the last 5 years or so, but it's a very small foothold. Blue Bell 0wnzers the ice cream market here, and for good reason.

Cold Stone Creamery, the best French Vanilla ice cream anywere. Unfortunately, they don't sell their stuff in stores... but then that's probably why it's soooo good. It's always fresh, not packaged and shipped.

How is Mumia connected to B&J's? (who make the only choc chip cookie dough ice cream i'll eat :))

Ben Cohen is a supporter of Wesley Cook. (Mumia Abu Jamal)

The story.

The list.

The Daniel Faulkner Website.

The other side.
russotto • Dec 16, 2004 1:08 pm
Breyers is tasteless, Ben and Jerry's has "Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz" (closest place: Cherry Hill Mall), and while Mumia did it, Faulkner almost certainly had it coming.

The ice cream contains too much sugar. Is it good to health?

You know what they say Billy ,
"Sex and druges and rock and roll , is All the brain and body need !!!!"

It's fine in moderation. A little bit isn't gonna kill you. Large, consistent amounts, however, will.

Not right away.

You'll have a lot of time to enjoy your own demise.

Especially if you use extra hot fudge sauce.

If you're gonna die anyway, you have to have extra hot fudge sauce.

Sure Billy, you can never get too much sugar. :lol2:
