Playing Cards

Not just playing cards but blatant product plugging and rah rah USA and other "good guys", playing cards.
Boeing gave them to me (with the 9-spades missing :mad2: ) the other day.

The box shows Chinook and Apache helicopters racing to a "hot spot" that is definitly the middle east.

The back of the cards has a picture very similar to the box but the "hot spot" is not clearly defined.

The Joker has 8 points behind him that look like bullets. Hmmm.....Yup, bullets.

These are the deuces. ;)

The threes, Greek Apaches, Aussie Chinooks, etc. :)

I don't like these cards that make me feel the war facing me. The player would kill me.

What is the three of clubs carrying?

Those are big rubber donuts filled with water or fuel, HM. Resupply for the ground troops. :)

I have the feeling we'll be working our way up there slowly, but I hesitate to wonder who/what is on the Jack, Queen and King cards...

I'm looking forward to the Aces, myself.

Actually you'll probably be disappointed as the face cards aren't that special. :)

Cool cards Bruce !!!!

I found out today boeing didn't hand these out to the help. It was the customer (read Army) that brought these and some posters in and started handing them out. I'd bet Boeing had them made and gave them to the Army, though. :apimp:
The 5 spades "Heavy Cav" was the first to get the Apache. It lists Warhawk, Checkmate, Silver Spur, Ruthless Rider & Desperado. I'm guessing these were the first Pilots and not the ships, but I'm not sure.

The sixes.
xoxoxoBruce • Nov 28, 2004 10:41 pm
And sevens.

Yeah, I definitely like the 6 of spades. I've never seen a sci-fi space dragon before. It's head is almost as big as the moon, or is it inside another context entirely? I'm going to go back to spatial orientation now.

flippant, it might be the quality or it could be the dosage....keep trying. :fumette:

Remember the 9spades was missing from this deck but I managed to photograph someone elses. :thumb:

Tens are us. ;)

Interesting that the cards have square corners. Most have rounded corners. I wonder if they did that because it's cheaper or because they expected these to be collectibles?

Bruce,
These look like a collection of posters for a Ridley Scott movie. :)

Who knew war could be so much FUN?

I love the saying on the 9 of Hearts.

I doubt they were meant to be played with. Just trying to get them off the scanner glass with my fingernails, tears up the edges. :eyebrow:

Little queen...little queen...... :)
Notice the small picture on the Qhearts? A Cellar IOtD, wasn't it?

Hail to the Kings. :king:

Well, my cards are on the table.
