President Hillary?

bluesdave • Nov 3, 2004 5:21 pm
So, should we now look forward to President Hillary in 2008?
Trilby • Nov 3, 2004 6:01 pm
YES!
cowhead • Nov 3, 2004 6:12 pm
Clinton/Obama in 2008?

I dunno this whole election thing has me so upset I'm going to start drinking again...
vsp • Nov 3, 2004 6:13 pm
Absolutely not a chance in hell.

Her candidacy would be an absolute death-knell to any chances anywhere in Red America, would draw right-wing wackaloons out of the woodwork more than anyone else's could, and would be yet ANOTHER seat lost in the Senate if she declined or aborted a second term to run.

I don't know who the Dems can call on to try to salvage America in 2008, but Hillary's not it.
Happy Monkey • Nov 3, 2004 6:23 pm
I suspect that the Democrat will win the next election, almost irrespective of who it is. The Republicans will have nobody but themselves to blame for anything in this coming term. But I think Hillary's main attraction is how much she annoys Republicans, and I don't think that's enought to win her the primary.

You know, I was thinking the same thing, although I was flipping between Clinton/Obama and Edwards/Obama.

Hillary has a hell of a lot more experience. I know conservative males hate her, but I'm not sure about conservative women.
Dagney • Nov 4, 2004 1:39 am
She seems to becoming more of a centrist, which is not exactly a bad thing.

I don't hate her, but I'm not too sure I 'like' her either.

We hate her more, rich.

I really don't think that Obama will play in flyover states.

We were starting to talk tonight who the R's might put up for 2008. I'm thinking Santorum at this point.

I don't have any reason to "hate" her. But I wouldn't want her in the White House, that's for sure.

f*ck they (the repubs) are going to try to run Jeb in 08.. keep the dynasty going. if that's the case I'm never coming back and this country can go back to burning 'witches' oops.. pagans.. liberals.. oh anyone who doesn't subscribe to the 'right' point of view.... run or civil war? I dunno do you want to fight about it? i preffer a war of words.. or ideas.. it looks like it's gonna come down to bullets... no one wants that

which is to say Mc'cain/Obama 008!
jaguar • Nov 4, 2004 5:00 am
I'm hoping McCain runs.
Beestie • Nov 4, 2004 5:24 am
If Hillary ever becomes president, I'll move to North Korea.

I would write in Osama if that happened. He'd be better for this country.
Clodfobble • Nov 4, 2004 8:50 am
I still hold out hope that Colin Powell will run someday. Someday...
Troubleshooter • Nov 4, 2004 8:56 am
How about Powell for president and Schwartzkopf for VP?

Now there is a dynamic duo who have both experience and viability.
iamthewalrus109 • Nov 4, 2004 9:14 am
I would start passing out manlicher carcano rifles to all the right wing wackos out there just to ensure that dragon woman would never even get close to the sacred office of the presidency. I would rather see Geraldine Ferraro in office. President Hillary, as if!

I get the historical reference, but I'd much rather have one of these.
Kitsune • Nov 4, 2004 1:26 pm
I'm hoping McCain runs.

Hey, even I might go for him.

Or Jesse Ventura. Man, that guy was nuts!
Pie • Nov 4, 2004 3:10 pm
I dunno who I'm hoping for in 2008. President Mom? Wait, she wasn't born here...

Oooh ooh - I know, that drunk religious wackadoo on the corner... Oh, wait, that's Dubya.

I think I'll go stand over there with Radar and plug Badnarik.

Too much military in that combo. One is OK, not both. I personally like Hillary, but I think the Dems would lose the election badly if she ran. Too many people hate her guts. I like the Edwards/Obama combo, and McCain is cool with me too. And I forgot all about Jeb...he was the "smart" son who was supposed to be President in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Republicans put another Shrub on the ticket. :(

Rick Santorum v. Hilary Clinton? In that case, I might have to leave the country. Someone let me know where Radar goes so I can choose somewhere far away.
alphageek31337 • Nov 9, 2004 2:26 pm
There's no way in the history of Fuck that Hillary will ever make it past the primaries. At least I hope not. Just being a woman would lose a lot of the vote, and being that particular woman would hurt our chances with any moderates on either end of the scale. America isn't ready for President Hillary. Frankly, I don't think I am. Though she did alright in her first two terms....

I would love it...but I don't see it. I don't know if I want to see it b/c of the "unsafe factor": a female (or Af/Am) as Prez means nothing but target practice for some asshole with a death wish.
