Cochese sends along this beaut which was posted to a fishing forum.

Hilarity!
Cyber Wolf • Nov 1, 2004 12:10 pm
YES!! :D  Take THAT, Mr. Great White Hunter!...or Angler in this case!
Cochese • Nov 1, 2004 1:30 pm
It still makes me laugh!
tandr • Nov 1, 2004 1:32 pm
Looks to me like some unfamous girl in the tub...

Does anyone know, is this spit poisonous ?
Sweets • Nov 1, 2004 1:53 pm
It's not poisonous, but I do believe it stains like mad. I can't believe that little squid let out so much ink!! Must have had a lot of pent up agression LOL :D
Trilby • Nov 1, 2004 2:01 pm
I fear the sea and all that inhabits it.
wolf • Nov 1, 2004 2:15 pm
Respect the sea, don't fear it needlessly.

Grandmother Ocean has many gifts and lessons for us.

Ask why you fear, and seek to understand.
SteveDallas • Nov 1, 2004 2:18 pm
Is there no follow-up photo of the beastie which was doing this? (I know, picky, picky.)
Kitsune • Nov 1, 2004 2:24 pm
Oh, no! Open mouth and all! :yum:
BrianR • Nov 1, 2004 2:29 pm
Where's that image of squid ink pizza? I *know* it's around here somewhere...

I think I was eaten by a sea creature in a former life. Or mangled by a combine--I'm afraid of those, too.
Elspode • Nov 1, 2004 3:23 pm
Wanna make Bri wet herself? Invent the aquatic combine, show her a picture of it, and stand back to watch the fun! :D

Hm. I'm detecting a bit of "let's make fun" here...however, an aquatic combine sounds like a pretty good investment venture.

There's a lot of research on underwater turbines for power generation. Check your local waterways Brits, it's supposed to be going on over there now.

**A damn good investment. You could make a killing if you had the right connections with the "forks" in the sushi industry.**
It reminds me of the time I saw a guy try to capture a buzzard he had wounded while hunting.
Be careful how you fool around with Mother Nature!
I wonder if the ink has an awful odor. If it does I feel very sorry for this guy. I know the guy with the buzzard was RURNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
chrisinhouston • Nov 1, 2004 6:06 pm
Somehow with Halloween just passing it reminds me of the kid in "The Excorcist". Kind of like projectile vomiting!
xoxoxoBruce • Nov 1, 2004 6:53 pm
If an alien hooked me and yanked me up to a strange world. I'd puke too. :vomitblu:
busterb • Nov 1, 2004 8:18 pm
IMHO, you don't catch squid w/hook & line. But I may need to do some research. So far I've only eat them :-P
Trilby • Nov 1, 2004 10:27 pm
busterb. may i say---:vomitblu:
zippyt • Nov 1, 2004 10:36 pm
squid sauteed with butter and a touch of garlic is KILLER !!!!!
Trilby • Nov 1, 2004 10:39 pm
I'd rather eat MRE's while sitting in a bomb shelter. :vomit: :vomitblu:
zippyt • Nov 1, 2004 10:51 pm
never ever had calamari ????
Trilby • Nov 1, 2004 10:56 pm
No, but I knew a girl named Calamari. She had a twin named Tequila.
Elspode • Nov 1, 2004 11:44 pm
I think it would be appropriate to compliment the squid on its aim. That's a damn fine shot, that is!
Sweets • Nov 2, 2004 1:33 am
Oh yes, the aim is marvelous!

And on the calamari topic. OMG .. it is SOOOO good.
wolf • Nov 2, 2004 1:57 am
I suspect I have only had it prepared improperly, but I fail to see the joy in eating highly seasoned and oiled rubber bands.

What's bad about that?

The buzzard story reminded me of a story of my uncle. He had a buzzard fly thru his winshield of his car. Apparently, the vulture was not dead at the time. My uncles face was badly scratched. I don't know if he ever was able to get the odor off of him. However, he had to sell the car because of the stench. The worse thing about the ordeal was it was a beuitiful 1968 Buick Riveara. This was a vey nice car during that period............

Yes, rubber band calamari is just overcooked, it shouldn't be chewy at all. I would prefer bad calamari to good ika though... that's just nasty.

I love calamari. Fresh calamari, lightly breaded, and sauted in butter is so damn good. I think the little tentacles are the best part. Tender.

Typical frozen calamari, dumped in the french fryer is horrid.

I never have, nor will I ever, eat little tentacles. For Pete's sake! They're monster parts!!
Roosta • Nov 2, 2004 6:03 pm
Are you sure it's ink and not the other type of "squid fear"?

Like the time Bart did this to me when I made him laugh while eating soup.

"Dammit... It's not so much that I want to beat you for spitting soup all over me... but my mouth was open...."

:dead:
