Football in the Commonwealth

Lets say nice things about the two best pro teams in the country.

Big Ben 21 of 25 with comeback.

The only real competition that the Eagles have in the NFC are the Seahawks, who, IMO, are highly overrated. I don't get the hype surrounding them.

Pittsburgh is not the best team in the AFC, but I'm gonna let that slide, bud, because I know you're doing drugs again. They are pretty damned good, though...surprisingly good, actually.

The drugs or the Steelers? The Tuna said that Ben is having the best start of any rookie QB since Marino. Of course we are talking about a man who was visibly lactacting in the first half of todays game. Too bad for his guys he ran out of mama juice and left them dry in the last two minutes.

Both, apparently. :)

Sun, Nov. 28 - Philadelphia @ N.Y. Giants, 1:00 pm
Sat, Dec. 18 - Pittsburgh @ N.Y. Giants, 1:00 pm

Over three weeks, the whole state is coming out to get a little league-leading turnover ratio schooling. I love it.

And who won that first game between the Eagles and Giants?

Yeah...that's what I thought. :)

The real question is not whether the Eagles will beat the Giants in their own house.

The real question is whether Eagles fans will beat the Giants fans in their own house ...

Are you using "house" as an idiom for "stadium"?

Or did you mean, the Eagles fans will go out and hunt down the Giants fans in their individual residences?

Either could be possible.

I believe you are thinking of the Ravens.

Ben Roethlisberger, a rookie quarterback who seemingly doesn't know how to lose, drove the Steelers to four scores following uncharacteristic New England turnovers and Pittsburgh ended the Patriots' two long winning streaks with a remarkably easy 34-20 victory Sunday.

Come again?

Let's see them roll off a couple of more wins while NE loses...THEN I'll say they're the best team in the AFC.

Having said that, they gave the Eagles a thorough ass-whipping today. And it was probably needed...it'll help keep the Birds--as well as the fans--grounded in reality.
Griff • Jan 21, 2005 8:11 pm
I just want everyone to note that the plan is coming together.

Do you realize that all the professional football played in the United States this weekend will be played in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania?

The Falcons will bring pain and suffering to the land of *snicker* brotherly love in biblical proportion. Philly fans will unite in their wailing and gnashing of teeth and shall become one with the remnants of what might have been. And so it shall be.
elSicomoro • Jan 21, 2005 8:40 pm
Beestie will drop his crack pipe in awe when the Falcons are given a sound thrashing. Meanwhile, Griff will drink himself into a stupor when Tom Brady and Corey Dillon break out their cans of whoop-ass at the same time and destroy the Steelers.
Griff • Jan 21, 2005 11:00 pm
Tom Brady = over-rated
Corey Dillon = what kind of name is that? Not a ballers name, I assure you.
wolf • Jan 21, 2005 11:19 pm
The Falcons, a pampered Southern team with a dome, will be so cold that they can't feel their balls. Or catch them.

I know, Griff...go ahead and get the denial out of your system early.
Griff • Jan 22, 2005 8:10 am
That was the booze talking. I know how good Brady is but its more about the coaching in Pat land. The NFC Championship has two quarterbacks better. Seriously though Corey Dillon has a name that belongs in a weak boy band.
