This is a baby Chinese crane, named "Attila", in the Duisburg zoo in Germany. Attila is 10 days old and will eventually grow to the height of a human.

I like the different textures in the photo, especially the beastly legs, and the gruel caught falling in mid-air. What is that food anyway?

And are they trying to simulate chopsticks with those tweezers because it's a Chinese crane?

Normally baby birds tend to be pretty ugly, but that's one of the cutest baby birds I've ever seen. I want that shading pattern of orange in my hair.

Funny, to me it looks like it's already deep fried to a nice golden brown...

A co-working just walked by my desk and asked "Is that Donald Rumsfeld feeding a baby crane??"

Heh. He looks like Don Rumsfeld's and David Bowie's half-brother.
