Today I got a thing in mail. Business Gifts & Entertaining Guide. Is someone nutts? Apple pie from Sara Lee in box for $ 31.56. Guess w/Bush tax breaks for the big boys, that'll be a write-off? But notice it's made from 4lbs of apples. Hell when you peel, core & cook down the apples what's left. I just bought an apple & a peach pie for 2 bucks each. 26 oz.

When it comes to gifts, it's not how good it is, it's how much you paid. ;)

I wouldn't pay $31.56 for Sara Lee's box, much less her apple pie.

That must be one heck of a Sara Lee pie! Frankly, I think the best gift would be a home-made pie - shows a lot more time and dedication than whipping out the old credit card and writing it off to some expense account.

Not if you tasted on of my home-made pies!

Problem with getting the crust right...

You have to make sure you don't handle the dough too much - that brings up the gluten content and makes for a tough pie crust. Also, use ice water. - Tips from the Happy Home-maker Dept. :D

I feel dirty because I went shopping at WalMart last night. I have an excuse though. It was late and the only place open.
