Welcome to China to watch the game in 2008.

"If you vote for John Kerry, aliens will help terrorists attack the 2008 olympics."

I don't agree you. I think Bush would make more terrorists for all the world, not peace.

Now there's an interesting perspective.....I've never seen a stadium that looks like THAT particular part of the human anatomy before.

B.E.Autiful~~will anyone come to Beijing in 2008?

Looks like the muscular part of the eye to me with the eyelids included. Man, why are all of the most interestingly shaped buildings in places that are really really far away? Most of the shape-based claim-to-fame buildings in the US are of the really really tall and phallic nature. "Mine's bigger'n yours!"

I'm planning on being there hopefully with my brother. It will be much easier if my parents are still living in Taiwan at the time, but that could change between now and 2008.

Did someone on this forum post a news story about how they're so far ahead on construction in Beijing, that the workers were actually told to slow down? (Said in contrast to the Athens situation)

Well, like Freud said, sometimes a stadium is just a stadium.

Gladly. Wire me airfare, hotel expenses and a little spending cash and I'll be right over!

:smack: Oh Bruce, you bad bad man!

Many China people cannot accept the Great Hall of China. It is ture that many stadiums would be slow down for reducing cost.

Billy, do you mean a lot of people there are not happy about the cost of hosting the Olympics? They feel the plans are too extravagant, too fancy? Do they question the plan openly, or just talking with friends?
Billy • Sep 16, 2004 6:59 am
We are happy for the cost, but we don't hope spend too much on the useless parts. Now the Chinese media discuss the cost and construction. We don't hope to build up the debts after the game beause there are many children in western China to wait for money to enter school, lots of fund against the AIDS...

Yeah Billy, it seems like politicians everywhere spend the money on everything but what we want. :yelgreedy
