Glorify the Philadelphia Eagles here

At 10 minutes before game time I thought we should have a place for people to post their good thoughts about the Birds before they rip our hearts out and stomp them in the dirt.

The Eagles will go 16-0 and win the Super Bowl.

This remarkable offense will not be stopped.

Midnight Green is a lovely color.

(It's the best I could do. The only other thing I can say about the Iggles is that they aren't DaBears.)

At some point, they will play a team that has a defensive secondary, which will be a more revealing test of their offense.

T'was a shame about Andrews.

Feagles is still counting his teeth. Eli Manning is still counting his internal organs. Despite that, I'm still not entirely sold on the defense; the Freak needs to stay healthy, Douglas's wheels need to hold up, the CBs will be severely tested, and defending against the running game is a significant weakness.

The second McNabb-Owens TD was absolutely sick.

The Eagles are lucky that they're in a very weak division -- the Cowboys are mediocre at best, the Giants have glaring holes, and the Redskins aren't quite there yet (even if Portis does have nasty potential, I've never been sold on Mark Brunell).

I watched some of that Washington-TB game, and the Skins are not together yet. An early coaching error showed that Gibbs hasn't figured out the new "challenge the call" concept.
SteveDallas • Sep 13, 2004 1:41 pm
Oh, yeah, 3 calls overturned by the replay... I wonder what the record is?

All three were pretty much no-brainers. I said out loud "Too bad he was over the line of scrimmage" when Donovan threw that third-down pass, and the other two were obvious.

Ah yes, football season. That time of year where the Cellar exposes its unbearable flaw of being largely based in and around Philadelphia.

Goddamn Warner...Goddamn Coughlin for picking Warner...Goddamn Accorsi releasing Collins...sigh.
SteveDallas • Sep 13, 2004 3:05 pm
If it's so unbearable why do you keep coming back for more?

I agree the overrules were all no-brainers, I just can't recall seeing that many successful ones in a single game.

I consider it the price to pay for intelligent conversation in other threads. :guinness:

And there's no real reason for the Guinness smiley, other than it makes me happy. Let me be happy. Please?

Go Birds!

it's gonna be a west coast offense in the final game, and i think it will be the seahawks. based solely on coaching.

I'm a Bear's fan too, my dear.

Yes, I'm the perfect woman. Conservative politics, loves guns, watches football, loves the DaBears.
