Well, it seems pretty likely. She was married to him for a while before she changed parties. I'm sure he was working on changing her mind the whole time.

Who says her mind's actually changed? I bet he was explaining to her the whole time how his political career would be very difficult if his wife were countermanding him all the time in public, so she's decided to just (try to) keep her mouth shut. The schtick only works for Mary Matalin and James Carville because neither one of them is running for office.
