Why I Don't Make "Milestone" Posts

wolf • Jul 24, 2004 11:45 pm
Because I become aware that I'm approaching one, then don't pay any damn attention, even when I've checked and know that I'm just five away ...

So, I started this thread in honor of my 5,016th post. In this incarnation of The Cellar.
elSicomoro • Jul 24, 2004 11:51 pm
5016 posts...that's truly awesome. What an incredible milestone! I'm speechless! I can't think of anything more to say!
xoxoxoBruce • Jul 25, 2004 12:03 am
It's truly an honor to add congratulations from my humble self to your 5016 post thread.
I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy I'm not worthy
:)

I'm very dissapointed in myself for not noticing the approach of 5000. I could have and should have made a big production out of it...all very embarrassing for you, I'm afraid, but in an endearing way.....you know. daRn
Beestie • Jul 25, 2004 12:56 am
The great ones do it with such ease that no one even notices.
Griff • Jul 25, 2004 8:20 am
I believe 5k gives you uber-giant status. :)
Trilby • Jul 25, 2004 10:39 am
Though I've read scant few your postings, I feel near and honored to share this milestone with the wolf who, well, to be frank, is a beacon of understanding in this dark, dark world. Let's hear it for Commitment Officers! If not for they, who would know oneself sane?

Or, ya know, there' bouts.
lookout123 • Jul 25, 2004 12:54 pm
*wipes tear from eye* i'll be able to tell my grandchildren that i saw greatness...
richlevy • Jul 25, 2004 12:57 pm
Great job.

Of course, I'm not allowed to post from work.
xoxoxoBruce • Jul 25, 2004 1:05 pm
I'm not even allowed to Look from work.
elSicomoro • Jul 25, 2004 1:09 pm
If I could post from work more regularly, I might be at 10,000 by now.

I don't post from work.

I occasionally read, but don't log in because I know that the minute I do I will be inundatated by patients or phone calls and will lose my new post markers ...
lumberjim • Aug 20, 2004 2:51 pm
ha ha. ho ho. hee hee.

Thanks all y'all, I saw it coming up and thought it would be funny to resurrect this particular olde threade to notice it.
SamIam • Jun 29, 2010 4:47 pm
WOW, UT! You could collect all your posts into a book - "The wit and wisdom of the great Toad."

20,000 posts is simply awesome!

Of those 20,001, how many do you remember?
jinx • Jun 29, 2010 9:45 pm
How many total, with prior name(s?) added? More than bruce?
Undertoad • Jun 29, 2010 10:31 pm
I don't think so, Bruce is still all-time champ.
sexobon • Jun 30, 2010 12:42 am
Some people have a gift for gab. I was curious about who had started the most threads as a better indicator of whose gift was greatest. After spot checking a few, I found that the tally for the number of threads started ends with the 500 most recent. Is the count continued elsewhere; or, is that the limit of the program?
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 30, 2010 1:26 am
What difference does it make? Number of posts/ number of threads, both are history. What's important is who posts next, who keeps it alive and flowing.

Oh, and hits the tip jar occasionally.
sexobon • Jun 30, 2010 4:49 am
I was also wondering if senior citizens with the gift of gab were more prone to having senior moments. Thank you for your input.
classicman • Jun 30, 2010 8:33 am
I think the numbers may get skewed by the IotD.
HungLikeJesus • Jun 30, 2010 8:35 am
Is jinx saying that Undertoad has sock puppets?
monster • Jun 30, 2010 10:17 am

So, I thought that I remembered a milestone post thread, one that wasn't this one, and I'm pretty sure it was where jim tried the whole "I'm quitting at 10k and becoming one of my alter egos" only I couldn't find it anywhere, and since I couldn't post to ask where that thread is to post (because that would waste my post) and no one comes into chat anymore, AND I didn't want to be stuck mute for the rest of my life, I'm glomming onto this thread.

my first 1,000 posts!

go me!
classicman • Aug 1, 2010 3:27 pm
oops posted in another thread before seeing this post - sorry.

oh and congrats on joining the millennium club

xoxoxoBruce • Nov 13, 2015 11:55 am
Plus another thousand I accidently deleted or previewed and forgot to submit. Need more proof I don't have a life?
Gravdigr • Nov 13, 2015 12:32 pm
Life is highly overrated. In fact, a lot of it sucks balls.

50,000 though...I salute you, sir.
