Health Forum

elSicomoro • Jul 18, 2004 1:36 am
We don't normally talk a whole hell of a lot about health issues...usually they come up as secondary in other conversations. But if a health forum is created, we might discuss health issues more often, and whole discussions might revolve solely around them.

What say the Dwellars?
Beestie • Jul 18, 2004 1:39 am
Forum overload is imminent. Opinions are plentiful.
elSicomoro • Jul 18, 2004 1:41 am
This is forum overload. :)

I don't think Cellar is at critical mass when it comes to forums...yet. We're a diverse group of peeps...it's only natural to add forums, as they're an expression of our diversity.

Actually, there were more. But the owners did some cleaning up a couple of months ago.

That is extraordinarily scary.

Especially considering that despite the extent of forum sprawl they STILL need a separate forum to deal with "off topic posts." AND a team of moderators.

mmmmmmmmmPhiladelphia...
jaguar • Jul 18, 2004 9:45 am
Some of the forums are faily dormant as it is, Sports, Food, Parenting and Cities all go though noteable periods of silence though certainly parenting has probably encouraged a few threads on the topic.

There is some interesting stuff around, an article on Soy stuff that wolf linked to somewhere caught my attention for example.
xoxoxoBruce • Jul 18, 2004 11:12 am
Sure, why not? Nothing was ever gained by excluding topics and if it doesn't interest you, skip it. :)

Then, I have another suggestion, could be possibly have the forums in more distinct categories. I went under Entertainment and posted a reply and when I got the email notification, it said that it was under Food and Drink. This suggestion is solely for clarity purposes. If all of you don't want to do this, don't worry about it. I'm the new guy, I don't know what's what.
jaguar • Jul 18, 2004 12:13 pm
that sounds like more of a bug.
crossfire • Jul 18, 2004 12:24 pm
what do you mean by that?

Sorry, I just found the Food and Drink Category

If you combined health and sexuality you could keep LJ somewhat contained... just a thought...
crossfire • Jul 18, 2004 2:01 pm
hehe

This would have been funny from anyone, but coming from Jinx... well my keyboard just got a taste of Mountain Dew.

Maybe they all work for the government. :D
jaguar • Jul 18, 2004 3:32 pm
I get the feeling jinx just uses a whip and a chair most of the time.
crossfire • Jul 18, 2004 4:05 pm
Now what are we talking about, or is that what I am not supposed to figure out? :D
Trilby • Jul 18, 2004 4:45 pm
a lot of times you have to go back to the beginning, crossfire. I've been reading a BUNCH of old posts--also helps you to know a little bit about personality disorders...

Maybe you should take some time to explore the site.Read some threads in each category and get a feel for layout. ;)

Hey, I represent that.

I think every one of us on here is fucked up in some way, shape or form. You just can't be normal and be part of Cellar.
crossfire • Jul 18, 2004 8:50 pm
that's what i like to hear :D

I disagree. There are a finite number of 'normal' people on here. probably somewhere around 15 or 20. the rest are all nuts in one way or another, but they're fun to read, so.....
Trilby • Jul 18, 2004 10:03 pm
Maybe--but do we have any candidates for "Mental Health Poster Child" of the Week is what I want to know.
elSicomoro • Jul 18, 2004 10:07 pm
Plenty.
Trilby • Jul 18, 2004 10:13 pm
Are you one?
elSicomoro • Jul 18, 2004 10:15 pm
Stick around for a while and judge for yourself. :D
crossfire • Jul 18, 2004 10:29 pm
I'm not crazy, but I have my issues

The normals only lurk bro, they're just watchin the freak show. :3_eyes:
marichiko • Jul 20, 2004 1:28 am
Maybe we could have a MENTAL health forum. Give us all something to aspire to. We could take up a collection to give Tomas R. his Internet back and he could be the moderator! Personally, I think Jinx's secret is thorazine. I swear by it myself - it comes in a new minty fresh flavor, too! The "normies" can lurk away. The rest of us are having too much fun! :biggrinha  :shotgun: :typing: :rasta:  :corn:
lumberjim • Jul 20, 2004 2:07 am
Griff, you were right up near the top of my normal list
Catwoman • Jul 20, 2004 9:43 am
I think a heath forum should be created. You know, like Hampstead Heath in London, where we can sit on the grass with a summer cocktail and talk about fashion, royalty, and who's shagging who.

hehe :D

That sounds so veddy British, Cat. I dunno. Would you Brits allow a lowly American cousin like me into an intellectual gathering like that? :eek3:
xoxoxoBruce • Jul 20, 2004 1:56 pm
To hell with that, it's date rape drugs and jock itch, over beers. :p
Trilby • Jul 20, 2004 4:13 pm
I think a health forum is a great idea--look at all the experience we have right here! Everybody's got a story and I'll bet there all grrrrrrrr-8! There are a lot of resources out there but they don't really advertise. I'll wager a lot of Cellarites could be helped! ( Like me!)
xoxoxoBruce • Jul 20, 2004 7:42 pm
Better hurry up before the dwellers run out of stories. ;)
Undertoad • Jul 20, 2004 11:31 pm
The Health forum is created.
