Spider wraps it up.

These pictures came from (NSFW) ORSM (NSFW).
Even though the snake is the size of an earthworm and dead when it was put in the web, I'm amazed.

They're calling it a "redback" but it looks like a Black Widow to me.

It's strength/size ratio is like, holy shit.

Wasn't there a Far Side with an optimistic spider spinning a web across the bottom of a playground slide?

I wonder how effective the spider's venom was when trying to actually eat the snake.

First of all.. Holy Crap!

Secondly... that THING is in the HOUSE!

Thirdly... it looks like a Redback. Check out the stripes on the legs - black widows don't have those.

You know, when I was a kid I did a little research and actually though about going there for a visit.

Uh-huh.

Ok, I might still get there one day. However, for safety's sake I will have to restrict my range to the Sydney Opera House and the topless beaches.

..and yes I do know about the deadly box jellyfish. I didn't say I would actually go in the water.

Ok, the giant earthworms would have been interesting to see.

Come across those in the garden before, nasty looking little critters, utterly deadly. Secondly only to the black window, at least down under. If it could get it's fang things though the skin there's a good chance it did off the snake as well.
