Righty blogger makes the case for Kerry

This dude sums up my opinion pretty well with this post.

Summing it up, if the War on Terror is the most important challenge of our time, as is Bush's stated belief, it would be the POTUS's first priority to do whatever he could to keep the people of the US safe... and the SECOND priority would be to keep them united around that war. Losing the will of the people to conduct the war on terror... or even to agree that there IS a war on terror... is a miserable failure of leadership.

By poorly making the case for Iraq... or maybe by assuming the case would be made post-war... it's not that he lost the will of Europe, but that he lost the will of America. Bush may have assumed that the resolve of 9/11 would linger through Iraq. Well "big mistake". So at this point the public is unhappy that we've engaged in liberation, democratization... hell, these are things that should be easy to unite around. Clinton could have done it. Hell, he DID do it in Kosovo. (How many US soldiers died for Kosovo? How many civvies? What do you mean, you don't care? Clinton lied, people died----)

They may say that leadership is doing what's important to do regardless of what the polls say, but Bush just isn't bothering to make the case with the people at all.

Bush's treatment of the press makes it perfectly clear he has no interest in the people.

I want Kerry to say something,.......anything. :worried:

Those guys have their share if nuts as well.

Maybe a new party could be formed.

Call it the Issue Party.

Call it the Issue Party.
The problem with establishing a new party is you(anyone) can't find 3 people to agree with you on all the "issues", no less a whole party. :(

Eeeasy Bruce. All Kerry has to do is sit back (for now) and let Bush self destruct. And from the feedback I've been getting from several people who have seen Michael Moore's movie, the next sound you'll hear is Bush exploding. I say Kerry should strike right around...September or so. Hell, he may even do it after we supposedly pull out of Iraq. Right now, he can just keep on the "down low" and let the chip fall where they may. :)

After reading a bit of the article that UT posted in the OP, I still find it puzzling that people are so indignant about Clinton lying about cheating on his wife. This wasn't a big surprise to me. Men who cheat often lie, this isn't news. I didn't feel that he lied to ME directly because I'm not his wife. Clinton didn't put the country at risk, as I feel Bush is doing. It would seem that our foreign policies are alienating the world against us and putting Americans here and abroad in danger. Granted, those living overseas in certain areas are being told to get out of dodge, but how many civilians will be beheaded before somebody "gets it"? I also do not feel that the terrorists "win" if we negotiate in order to save another life. Regardless, they will still terrorize. "But they'll think it's ok to keep kidnapping people if we cave in to their demands". Newsflash: they don't give a flying shit. As long as they feel that they are in the "right" about what they are doing, they'll still proceed with their agenda. I honestly don't think this so called "war on terror" is going to be a success if we kept going in the direction that we are going in.

The family of Paul Johnson Jr. said themselves that they would have wanted the US to negotiate in order to bring their loved one home safe and sound. I can't imagine what they are feeling right about now. :(

We're supposed to be safer now that Saddam has been captured. Mmm'kay. Granted, I've never felt 100% safe anyway, so his capture didn't do anything for me as far as the safety factor is concerned.

And as far as the country not being united...when were we ever TRULY united as one country? Historically, this country has been divided one way or another. How can true unity be achieved if America's own citizens are constantly made to feel undervalued, undermined and marginalized?

You're probably right. I hate the lag between the primaries and the election. Waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Even the convention is a long drawn out circus with the only result being Kerry tells us who his VP choice is. The platform is a joke and the rest is just a waste of good balloons.

You're suffering from sample bias. Anyone who would go see Michael Moore's movie probably already has their mind made up. And anyone who would believe anything from Michael Moore has such poor critical thinking skills that the next advertisement will put it right out of their mind.

So far, a vast majority of the complaints about F-9/11 accuracy have concentrated on the Bin Laden family airplane flights. If you only read discussion groups about the movie, you'd think that those planes were the subject of the movie. As it turns out, it was confusingly worded, but accurate. And the basic point, that the Bin Laden family and other Saudi eleites have deep ties to the Bush family is indisputable.

The second complaint I've heard is that Moore mentioned that only one Senator has a child in the military, but neglected to mention that another one has a nephew in service. I'm not certain what point that complaint is trying to refute.

Are there any other issues anyone has seen with F-9/11's accuracy?

My point was to have a bunch of people who vote each issue on its merits as opposed to sticking with the herd that's all.

Not just the Bush clan but a lot of the wealthy movers and shakers here. That's their social circle.;)
