This is a four-month-old baby wombat, held by keeper Lana Langdale at Sydney's Taronga Zoo.

Her name is Cherry.

melidasaur • Jun 11, 2004 2:36 pm
so that's a wombat... I would name him Cody.
Tricoloreyes • Jun 11, 2004 3:49 pm
I would name him/her Wilard after that most famous rat that Michael Jackson sang a song for.

Just don't hit it with a car, those things have caused writeoffs.

Yea I saw one website that sais they can get up to 3 feet long!

Here is a movie clip of one:

that clip makes them look cute in a bulky kind of way, in reality they can be mean little fuckers, a bit like more aussie flora and fauna now I think about it. Nothing like a tourist who just had an angry koala piss on thier head.

Or some idiot backpacker getting his head kicked in outside the Green Room.
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 11, 2004 8:59 pm
Serious claws.
Clodfobble • Jun 11, 2004 9:01 pm
It looks a lot like a baby ROUS to me. :)
Elspode • Jun 11, 2004 10:44 pm
Rodents of Unusual Size? I don't believe they exist.
Elspode • Jun 11, 2004 10:45 pm
Oh...and he reminds me of Spuds McKenzie.
Guess • Jun 11, 2004 11:26 pm

Not to spoil your fun, but that was "Ben," the sequel to Willard. The only thing it had over the original was a catchy theme song.
jojomonkeygirl • Jun 12, 2004 2:27 am
it kinda looks like my sister's baby:eek:
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 12, 2004 5:38 am
Bwahahahaha,.....I asume your sister does NOT read the Cellar.:D
Slartibartfast • Jun 12, 2004 1:41 pm
I thought a wombat was a girl bat. You know.... male/female, bot/fembot, man/woman, bat/wombat
dar512 • Jun 12, 2004 3:01 pm
Ah. But how do they taste barbequed?

Mmmmm. Wombat.
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 12, 2004 11:05 pm
They taste like Womchicken.:D
tweek • Jun 13, 2004 5:08 pm
The rat's name is actually "Ben." Willard is the freaky guy. Damn, get it straight!
wolf • Jun 13, 2004 5:17 pm
The featured rat in Willard was named "Socrates."
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 13, 2004 8:21 pm
I think Ben had his own movie, didn't he?:)
wolf • Jun 13, 2004 10:12 pm
Yep. With a cute, charming, kid co-star too.

Bruce Davison just had Ernest Borgnine.

The rats were cuter than he.
jdbutler • Jun 14, 2004 9:43 am
Just a demented observation...
Is that a womb-bat between his legs?
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 14, 2004 4:06 pm
Jd, you're sick and twisted.
I like that.
