I closed it. I don't know how many replies are permitted in vBulletin, or how much it taxed the system or even whether it taxed the system at all, but I started to worry about it. And clearly something had to be done or it would never ever die. I'm sure people were just pumping their post counts anyway, which is ridiculous IMHO.

i don't really care about the post count. i liked the word association thread because it was interesting to see whose mind went in what direction. would it be acceptable to have another word assoc thread and put it to rest after x number of posts and so on...?
