Buncha-naked-people photographer Spencer Tunick strikes again, this time in Melbourne. Any of our Melbournites catch anything of this? It happened about two weeks ago.
I sure hope we get at least a link to look at his finished works.
It wouldn't surprise if Jag isn't in that crowd somewhere, he being the resident anarchist here. ;)
That's not really one of Tunick's actual photos, is it? It's just a news shot of the people walking to one of the locations where he photographed them.
I wasn't there, but my sister and cousin were. They seemed to have fun doing it.
Personally, even though I'm the open-minded arty type, I don't see the art in this kind of thing. It's a bit too sensationalist.
And by the way, we prefer the term "Melburnians."
I think it's art because it's showing something that most people think is wrong and evil in a very beautiful way. Most people have a strong cultural objection to gathering naked together in very large groups, even though there's nothing really logically wrong with it. It just sort of shatters boundaries.
BTW - his website says that he's going to sell albums of the final prints for $1500.

Not likely. You had to show proof that you're over 18 to get to do that.
I'm all for the idea of breaking down boundaries. I'm certainly not offended by the idea, but I'm just not connecting with the art.
yea that was a journo shot, not his shot.
I was extremely cynical aboutit but the final show i have to admit was...interesting.
and no. I was not involved =P

Rightly said.
