10/17: Robot Cat

The Japanese company that developed this has gotten more play and more press in the last few days. Why not add to it?

This robotic cat is supposed to compete with Sony's AIBO, and they cost into the thousands of dollars.

Well, I saw some video of this thing last night, and it is truly horrible. I mean truly. Its movements were grossly unnatural and bizarre.

I only posted this because the last week or so has been pet central here, and here's another in a continuing series, why not? But I'd rather have the 25-toed variety, or the hairless variety, than this beast from hell.

Anyone know of any sites with video of these creepy little things?

Note the eyes - not like my round-eyed pair of cats at all.

Ok I could not resist this one. They are japanese cats so they have japanese eyes.

Booooo! bad taste

I know, I know but its not like "High-Jack this fags" is high brow humor either. These cats look like attack dogs in cat suits. Obviously this company is trying to ride on AIBO's success, I know countless toy companies that did that also. Theses guys however, are looking to the highly fanatical cat lover market for their cash cow.

No, I think she's just some representative of the company. Maybe a model.
