You know? I don't think members should be allowed to start threads beating up on specific private individuals. It puts me off, and I bet it does other people, too. I have no problem with giving each other hell during the course of an argument WITHIN a thread, and I have no problem with somebody sending me or anybody else a PM telling me that they hate me, but what's been going on here today feels just a bit too much like McCarthyism to me. What say we leave the witch burning back in 17th century Salem where it belongs?
On the other hand, if the thread title tells you it's crap you can avoid reading it, rather than stumbling into it in the middle of a thread.:)

I didn't start this thread to point fingers or assign blame. Then I'd be doing what I just said I deplored, now wouldn't I? I think certain threads yesterday set off some sparks that apparently ignited some rather long standing animosities. All parties concerned seemed quite willing to fuel the flames. Folllow your bliss, I guess. Bruce is right. Since such threads do not add to my day, I'll simply avoid reading them in the future.
And for the record, I also enjoy your posts, Syc. I don't always agree with you, but this would be a boring place if every poster was a clone of me (shudders at the thought).

I seem to remember a post about overreacting and holding grudges, being a personal demon.
For the record, it was holding grudges and using scorched earth tactics, neither of which was an issue in this situation.
I am guilty of overreacting from time to time, but it's not a demon.
1) Threads should only be started in a situation where there has been established a 'clear and present danger' of tedium.
2) Considering the heinous nature of certain individuals and the actions which must be taken against them, we refuse to abide by the Geneva Conventions in regards to behavior on the threads, although, when it suits us, we might consider in some way using some selected portions of them as a guide.
3) Allegations of a 'hidden thread', where all manner of terrible verbal abuse are not only tolerated, but condoned, are denied.
4) In our crusade for all that is good, and knowing that we are the true voice of God, we can pretty much do what we damn please.
