Upper Moreland police charged a township man yesterday with possession of a weapon of mass destruction and related counts after they said they found bomb-making materials in his home.

Please don't tell the White House or we'll be fighting a war on three fronts. Then again, PA could use a couple of billion in reconstruction money.

If "something" exploded, and the only thing they could find is shrapnel, how could he be "in possession of a weapon of mass destruction"? ;)

You know; if I were to look up, on Google, instructions on how to improvise an explosive from ordinary household materials; then look in my cabinets and find enough of them to make a bomb; would I then be guilty of possessing "bomb-making" materials?

Because I had styrofoam, ammonia, bleach, chalk, gasoline, motor oil, a bucket of rusty nails, sawdust, charcoal, lighter fluid, vegetable shortening, vinegar, a few pieces of plumbing pipe, duct tape and wire in various sizes? Not to mention a copy of The Poor Mans' James Bond...

I think this Patriot Act thing is getting out of hand and needs to be reigned in. And I'm a Republican for Chrissakes!

If it went off, and no one is missing a medium-sized suburb (or larger area), it ain't a weapon of mass destruction by any means.

Anyone with a home with a natural gas feed, some duct tape, and a candle can make a real nice bomb to take out a fairly large area, after all.

I seem to remember about australia getting worried about people filling trucks with ANFO, good farking luck stopping people getting hold of a truck, fertiliser and fuel oil.

High order explosives are orders of magnitude tricker but it`s far from impossible.
